J20hawkz
Wilson is a scientist. A scientist needs helpers. So what I propose is for Wilson to have an extra "crafting" ability that utilises every ones idea of a lab to create his very own mechanical worker bot.Requirements will obviously be at least one gear and possibly a coloured gem or two. We don't want people spamming these little lovelies all over the Don't Starve universe. What will they do you ask? Well it's very simple we have the mechanic where Wendy is able to instruct Abigail to attack something so for Wilson to get one of his bots to work is as simple as that. Simply have a Wilsobot fully functional and click to either chop trees, pick berries, collect pengull eggs, gather twigs and grass,it's as hard as that. Each bot is also able to store up to two of any item you wish to store in them.To compensate for their sheer usefulness, Wilsobots will have very little HP so keeping one safe during a hound attack is crucial if you wish to keep one operating. These things run on solar power so once dusk sets in they start to power down and enter sleep mode once it becomes night.Once we upgrade the lab with possibly more rare resources we can increase the number of Wilsobots we can build.Another unique function of Wilsobots is that they emit a small amount of light when in sleep mode. They can also give off a small amount of heat. However the length of time for both is very short, around 30 seconds. Any bot that is around in winter will remain in sleep mode throughout the cold season. This is flaw was a design error on Wilsons part, as he forgot to install an internal heating device that is strong enough to keep a Wilsobot work ready when temperatures drop. Overall summary for a Wilsobot:1. Requires a new crafting tab unique to Wilson called the "Lab"2. Requires at least one gear and one to two coloured gems3. Has a storage capacity of two4. Can gather any resource just as well as Wilson can5. Very small HP6. Runs on solar power so enters sleep mode automatically during night7. If overworked produces a small amount of heat and light8. Freezes and remains inactive during Winter9. Follows Wilson if in range and not instructed to work10. Can be dismantled to yield one gearWhat are your thoughts? Craig_Perry
maybe not the light or heat aura, and in winter machines in fact find it easier to run. maybe make just 1 helper-bot available to each character. Wilson may be a scientist but as pointed out (cant remember by who) "not necessarily a good one" this is likely the incorrect wording though Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/27563-wilson-and-the-wilsobots/#findComment-318935 Share on other sites
Battal
It would be nice as a mod, but I don't think it would be good in the vanilla game. Having a bunch of doppelgangers running around would probably ruin the feeling of solitude. tehMug
This has great potential. Pick what you hate doing the most (for me it's hunting/mining rocks and gold) and set him lose. You could start off buy using Gobbler code for hunting down berries. Very reminiscent of ComputerCraft for MineCraft (the 'turtle' bot). That mod even has a LUA console for commands. I think an added suggestion would be to restrict the amount of bots to two functional at any one time Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/27563-wilson-and-the-wilsobots/#findComment-318967 Share on other sites

Tulingu
I don't think this should part of default Don't Starve. Hmm that sounded a little harsh but I would definitely not mind if this was a mod, seems quite interesting actually. 5raptorboy777
Maybe , but it's too OP currently. If it was to be added it would need a much higher cost.
