Disappearing save file? (Steam)

I played a bit earlier in the week and managed to continue my game just fine (after saving in the morning/evening). Yesterday I launched DS and couldn't continue, only create a new one (or a new world). Nothing really changed on my end, either. Has this happened to other people who use the Steam version?

I have seen others comment with same problem. I am not sure of the solution Mivo. Try the bug forum and see if someone else has posted the solution.

I had the same problem, but strangely one day later i could continue with the "lost" savegame.

Yeah, that's a steam cloud issue. If it doesn't sync, it doesn't have your file. Then later, when it DOES sync, it can find the lost file.

Thanks, folks! Okay, so my next task is to figure out how to disable cloud saving. (Hopefully it's possible -- everything wants to cloud-save these days, and I don't need it since I just run a nightly backup to an external drive.)
