No Bees No Beef?

So like many others I saw some Let's Players play Don't Starve. I saw less then 10 minutes of game play and already rushed off to get it. I load my first world and was freaking out at how awesome it was. But I noticed something was a miss ... I saw No bees, no cows (Beefalo?), and not rocks (after a half a day of traveling in one direction I found them but it took a few lives and trips to get it:D). I've searched high and low and not once saw, heard, or even seen a trace of bees or cows. Should I just start a new world? (I've already just about memorized the map so i'm a bit bummed out, about what to do) or can some how make a new save? (Are there saves?)

There should be there. Beehivs can be easily missed, as they are small (although bees tend to spread) but you should see beefalos.

Keep exploring until you've covered all the map

Have you explored the entire map? If you are on a island there should be a bridge leading to more islands.

I think there is a bug that rarely makes it so you spawn on a single island that is not connected to other islands. In that case you should probably create a new world. Good luck!

And, the game saves automaticly at dusk and morning.

I've found them ! But they are on the other side of the island (P.S> sorry for the slow reply i forget to come back to posts >///<....my bad)

If u farm ur self made beehives for honey, the bees attack u. Killing them doesnt seem to influence the rate at which honey gets produced, but they never dropped anything for me, so its up to u if u do it or not Just be careful where u place ur own beehives. When destroyed with a hammer they do not drop honeycombs, at least they didnt when i tried 2 days ago. Honeycombs can only be looted from wild hives, which limits ur amount of possible beehives.
