With the implementation of Delivery Drones the state that Postal Pup is in needs to be fixed. Between Woby vanishing until recalled, not arriving at her destination, not storing items, and just in general not working, it needs a major fix up.

In addition to just being fixed, I'd like it if it functioned on par with Delivery Drones. Considering Postal Pup was the "original" iteration of this perk, and functioned in beta just fine before, making the perks function like one another would not hurt at all. I play both characters and would not consider Postal Pup being usable as stepping on Wx's toes, nor would I consider Delivery Drone stepping on Walter's toes (if the perk worked). Just being able to send Woby to a specific location on the map would be nice.

I never see other Walter players take this perk, and when I or my friends do it is either too inconvenient to utilize (you either both hold compasses or set up ocuvigil stations to receive deliveries), or it just does not work at all.

It requires 3 camping skills to unlock, it really should be a good skill. I'd go as far as to say it should be reverted to one of the first iterations were it was instant

while we are at it, fix us being able to unlock it with only 2 insight if we use a mod to refund one of the three pre-requisites

they do! we don't know where they got those toes but they keep 'em in a little sachet in their chassis for good luck

I think it would be better thematically (and more unique compared to WX) if Woby could be sent to players without needing to bother with compasses or ocuvigils. Just having the option to send Woby to either the marked point or a player would go a long way. Walter wouldn't need to know where they are, which would be the benefit to Woby over drones. This could also give the player the option to dismiss Woby so that she will return to Walter when they are done.

There also needs to be bug fixes. Woby can easily get soft locked if her pathfinding gets stuck trying to access a chest. She also sometimes just gets stuck running in place and can't be interacted with, only when sending her to another player. You gotta hop into the caves and come back up to fix her. She is just VERY buggy when going to another player.

Yeah I kept bringing it up back then and still feel the same now. I don't even use the chasis skills for Wx but I do use the delivery drone because being able to send items to base or to other players is useful it's just that the way they did it with Woby was awful post nerf. It's a skill implemented when Woby is at her most useful you sacrifice her doubling food, helping you with work tasks, helping you with collection, and just being the best mount in general to send her on long journeys. It's just never worth that trade off and it's made even worse by the fact she requires a steep skill point investment to even get to use the skill. Heck in most cases it's actually faster and more productive to just go to where the item drop-off is needed anyway.

I remember a suggestion- I don't know if it was mine or someone else's- I have really bad memory you see, but I remember SOMEONE before the Walter skill tree suggesting on my post about a potential Woby delivery perk saying that Woby should be able to "sniff" other players to get their scent, enabling you to send things to them, the logic being that she's tracking them. I liked this idea a lot.

I suggested that she should be able to find players if they pet her, so that she has their scent. That was during the beta though, so I don't think I was the one you are remembering
