Thoughts on the survivor redesigns?

Wilson: Pretty good redesign, though it'll take some getting used to as the main wilson design as his OG is so iconic.

Willow: Cool redesign, though this out of all the survivors strikes me as the redesign that makes me wonder if there's a lore reason for the new designs. This doesn't seem like something anyone from Earth would wear, especially willow.

Wendy: Pretty big upgrade IMO. Base Wendy's design was never my favorite, but the redesign is cool.

WX-78: Only real changes seem to be Armour plating. Not the biggest fan tbh.

also for some reason people were saying that elsewhere has "newhome artstyle", just no?

but why do they wear differend thing? and how will wolfgand, wicker, woodie, wes, maxwell, wigfrid, webber, winona, warly, wormwood, wortox, wurt, walter, and wanda look?

I think you didnt give WX-78 a fair chance here. I really dig their new look. Especially the keyhole on their chest.

If anything together looks more newhome tan elsewhere.

I'm assuming it is similar to how they all canonically got new outfit when going to the Forge and Gorge. These ones are just less gaudy from a design perspective since they are the new "base" outfits

Yeah that's my current guess too. Which would make sense that Elsewhere is effectively a dimension of the constant. 

The question that then poses though is is this part of the initial Forge/Gorge trip through dimensions with the ancient gateway, or is this post From Beyond with the sealed portal.

At the end of the Time Flies animated short (where they visit all the different versions of Don't Starve for the anniversary), it focuses on a broken Back-trek watch, and we never got closure as to what that implied. My guess is that this is post From Beyond, but not through the sealed portal, and instead through the watch.

Maybe WX's keyhole is related to the wind-up mechanism of the walking cage things seen with the bunnymen?

They managed to draw Wilson differently and I /STILL/ love his design which can only be a good sign (for me).

I can't stop seeing Wendy's single hair strand in that one pic as making her forehead look wrinkled like a caveman.

Might the keyhole mean they might allow temporary access to their empathy module or a reference to it causing memories like in the WX story video? ( >~< Poor WX! )

Because it would only be lore, not something in game. Plus, we've seen that it was used to go to the Gorge. The broken watch sitting there and sparking is a Chekhov's Gun if I've ever seen one.

I'm glad someone brought this topic up. These watches have been bothering me since the DSE trailer was released.

That being used as a reason why the characters seem to wear different AU clothes / Wendy for example being read as a future version in the art style in the DSE trailer would pacify my mind instead of DSE playing in "our" future with an older Wendy being read, as this would give me some probably now unessessary worries for "our" Wickerbottom.
