Lunar Rifts need a new source for generic seeds

Once the lunar rifts go up the cycle of lunar hail creates substantial lulls in the time which players can access generic seeds for farming. This is not an issue if the player has managed to collect specific seeds before opening the rift but once they start the process of farming for new crops becomes particularly tedious. This is felt most acutely when trying to access rarer crops that already have a small chance of growing from generic seeds. It is not unusual for me to spend an entire Autumn farming for pumpkins, which are a requirement for Misery Toadstool and like a 2.5% chance from generic seeds.

I would love to see more options for accessing new crops during lunar rifts, and I think there could be some creative ways to implement this. Perhaps a brightsmithy tier tool for transforming crops that have already grown? Or maybe lunar catcoons could provide specific seeds with a more favorable loot table.

Edit: The summoned fruit flies drop generic seeds at 10%, which can be boosted with luck. The boss itself drops seasonal crop seeds.

I'd say just to keep things simple, utilize a previous mechanic with some alterations. What about a 33% chance of a bird in a bird cage dropping a generic seed alongside the 100% chance of a specific crop seed when fed a crop?
