Talked about this a little in another thread but i want to bring it to light. Currently, there are 7 main filters in the game that i think of. Lunacy, Insanity, Moggles, Full Moon, Smell-E-Vision, Nightberry, and Woodie's Wereforms.

Of these filters, Lunacy, Insanity, Smell-E-Vsion, and the Nightberry filters are most likely to be modded out because they strain their eyes (Or dislike them).

Personally, I actually like these filters. They don't affect me negatively, and I enjoy the immersion. But a lot of people don't and just mod them out. What's the reason for this not being an accessibility setting? Balance? Immersion?  For balance, accessibility settings exist already which affect gameplay much more than filters. Turning Screenshake off arguably makes the game easier, since it makes it way easier to focus and see the screen during bosses or earthquakes. This setting is normally auto turn off since it helps a lot regardless if screenshakes has a bad impact on you. I understand immersion since just making the screen bright would look odd, but its the player's choice to break this immersion anyway so it wont effect the average player.

What is odder though is that WX's skilltree removes the Smell-E-Vision filter from the moggles circuit. An accessibility thing shouldnt be locked behind a skilltree. Already talked about that in particular another thread by Robot Butler you can look there. This can be removed and be replaced with something else.

As for how I want it implemented, Instead of just a button to turn it off, it would be great if it was a slider or value from 0-100 like the image below that let us change the intensity of the filter, with 100 being normal and 0 being off. Anything would work.

Edit: Seasonal filters can be seperate. Or, every filter could have its own option if that’s reasonably achievable.

i 100% would stand behind this. i can -only- play on pc because i absolutely cannot not play unmodded. being able to go through the tiles that have a lunacy effect tied to them without my eyes hurting and being able to use the stack of nightberries i have collected would be great

I would like this. I have a mod that removes all filters, including seasonal ones (yellow summer and blue winter, green spring, etc. Every season is the same unfiltered color)

I normally use a mod to remove or change the Winter Filter because it’s hard to see nightmares. It’s also really bad for when light comes in and hits my screen and I can barely see at dusk or night… I have had to use lanterns in dusk before just to see.

It might be the Spring filter can’t remember what one I replaced. I used a Shipwrecked filter.

Love the summer filter since it’s so easy to see

the mod to change your filters wouldnt happen to be this one would it? it is one of my two absolutely-required mods. when this stops working i will have to find a new one or stop playing dst

Yeah I believe it is this one. I didn’t know it existed, and had to ask how to change seasonal filters because it was affecting my vision so much.

Yes to specific vision filters, no to being able to change season/day filters.

Yeah I never asked for this, was just something mentioned in the comments.

They could also add an option for every filter if it really matters, or make seasonal filters seperate.

As someone who played on most platforms. I do need this as filter. I am not using moggles in console versions just because it strains my eyes unless I am crazy

It’s weird how the insanity filter makes it easier to see with moggles.
