This equipment fell in the twin eyes, is a relatively useful equipment in the early and middle stages, both attack and defense, but its durability is too low, only 315, so that this shield does not destroy may be unreasonable, but please increase its durability somewhat, if you can sprint like Teraria, it is better. After all, the difficulty of the Twin Eyes is not the same as the difficulty of the Eyes of Terror.

just give it wig's parry thing, its so obvious

That would probably require some buffs to Battle Rond to make it worthwhile then, but... I don't think it would be bad to have Shield of Terror be able to parry attacks~

I had the idea that the shield of terror doesn't have durability, it instead each attack also does a bite. It would be relatively weak and wouldn't be effected by damage modifiers but the damage from this bite would go back into the shield, essentially making it an infinite use weapon if your good enough. I also think it would be good as a source of pre rift planer damage. One of the complaints with the system is that while you can easily get the a way to defend yourself from it with the dreadstone gear, there is no way to be effective against it pre rift. So I propose that this decently challenging boss that you have to go out of your way to fight would be perfect to allow you to start on that mechanic.

I also think that with Wigfrid, if she gets rond attributes she gets the ability to charge in a direction, going fast for a few seconds and gaining a lingering speed boost for 5 seconds. Something that makes it more of a tricky counter then a parry to make it so the rond isn't  useless while still making it interact.

I'd argue the only change the shield needs is a substantial durability buff, since it's pretty easy to accidentally break due to both dealing and taking damage. The damage is fine since I feel like it's meant to be a everyday use weapon thanks to the ability to repair it and it hitting the 50 damage threshold which is important for dealing with trash mobs like spiders and hounds.

The only time the shield is underwhelming is when you're a good enough player who's able to activate one of the rifts in your first year, as often starting rifts will take priority over fighting the twins, and planar weapons and armour outclass the shield in pretty much every way. At that point though, it's fine that the shield, a mid game weapon, is outclassed by the endgame planar weapons.

I think a gimmick like a dash would be nice since the Shield of Terror runs into the issue of jack of all trades master of none gameplay style. Like for how difficult the Twins of Terror are, the Shield of Terror only really excels in convenience; it's both a football helmet and tentacle spike in one. After I got a steady supply of nightmare fuel and living logs, I stopped using the Shield of Terror as an everyday weapon and headset items like ironically the Eyemask and Dreadstone helm sufficed for armor.

I think a durability buff would be nice, since it would allow the shield to be used for bosses, allowing it to extend its convenience to boss fights with less preparation. I love the idea of a dash since it's uncharted territory and we need more weapons that don't base their identity purely around their stats.

This is one of my favorite items, but its durability makes it extremely bad... even after the Lunar Rifts I still like to use it, but it always breaks at the worst times and inopportune moments. If it had more durability or was unbreakable when it reached zero, it would certainly be one of my favorite items.

It definitely needs an improvement, even if it's just a level 2 crafting upgrade.

I think the only buff it needs is to have it not break on 0 durability, and then just keep the low durability as it is.

Honestly, that would be the best case.
Make it work similar to Alarming Clock.
Where you keep it equipped at 0% for lesser damage/armor reduction.

I feel like the shield of terror wasnt designed to replace armour but to help lessen the durability loss of your primary armour by splitting the durability damage between all your armours.

For e.g using the shield of terror with snurtle armour allows you to have 80% damage reduction even when not in turtle mode (instead of the snurtle armour's basic 60% reduction) the snurtle's non-turtle protection of 60% helps to keep the shield from breaking too quickly or vice versa if you do decide to use the 100% turtle parry which the shield helps keep the snurtle armour from breaking.

This leaves your head slot free for miner hat/moggles/winter insulation (or pinecone pioneer hat if playing walter).

This is a great armour combo which also works for things like the marble suit/ football helmet/ shield of terror combo to make the marble suit last as long as possible.

I do agree that the only buff the shield needs is to not break at 0% otherwise it has a good niche atm. I like to use both the snurtle armour and shield combo when playing walter since woby can replace the need for a backpack allowing you to freely use body armours with little downside.

If you were going to buff it

There's one extremely reasonable buff for it. When it hits 0% it doesn't break.

Doesn't mess with balance or anything in a major way, but also makes it so you don't have to constantly worry about permanently losing the item

Honestly, this should be done on top of another buff. I'd like to see it get some kind of dash (as a reference to how it works in Terraria) in addition to not breaking at 0%.

most ppl cheese the twins so nope,

unless they make it so that when u challenge the twins they put u in an arena where u cant summon other bosses or minions .

i mean lets be real dfly has an unusable armor , at least the shield does something, they need to buff dfly's loot as well or the armor

You are very funny to me

You talk like you're John Klei and just complain about what people say without even attempting to see where they're coming from

On repeat

Dude you still have to wait 15 days to spawn the twins again which can be very annoying. This has to be ragebait, doing the same boss over and over again can be more annoying than difficult.
