In the latest beta, Lunar Buzzards can now eat almost any creature.
This means that any resource farming from mobs now results in situations like these:

I apologize in advance for the laggy recordings. But I wanted to show what it might look like in a mega base.

Previously, when Lunar Buzzards only ate creatures that could mutate, it was possible to somehow live with them.
But now? Now, the destruction they cause is pure absurd. Because of them, mobs farms practically don't exist on the surface.
It's an interesting mob. But the fact that we have NO METHODS to protect ourselves against them makes it a terrible mob that should be disabled in the world settings.

I recommend check my previous post about Lunar Buzzards. There, I suggested several ways to fix them:

Just make it so their lunar breathing won't damage the structures.

Other than that, I think they are fine.

Nah, them destroying structures is fine, it should be punishing they are meant to destroy and be annoying, their whole point is to ruin your fight zone, we just need a counter measure for bases, and the countermeasure should be somewhat expensive

They can destroy the entire herd of volt goats. It is very annoying. Buzzards also damage hound mounds. I've lost 2 of them because of the buzzards when trying to make an automatic farm

Buzzards have gotten so annoying because of their ability to destroy bases and even some farms. In the beta, I just saw that they also start eating any corpses, which will able to make any animals on the Constant go extinct.I know DST is an uncompromising game, but so far, everything HAS an "antidote." Like the Dragonfly from the Don't Starve version: it's too hard to kill, so we can pacify it by feeding it 20 ashes. These buzzards? Even if we kill them, it doesn't even decrease the number of buzzards.

Honestly at that point i would change the spit attack to just deal dot on player/mob infecting thier pray, the chaotic fire that obliterates everything within second looks awesome but it is very destructive. My idea is to implement the old forge mob "crocomancer" spit attack and replace it with the fire spit attack instead, they would still be deadly as they are but less destructive Steam Community :: Guide :: ГАЙД ПО КУЗНЕ / THE FORGE Как тащить игрыimage.png.532f5ed1f31451139546c5106856d608.png

Not saying that the complaints aren't valid, for the record. I'm just saying that there are ways to play around the Buzzards.

In fact, even the guide creator seems to agree that they're kind of an annoying chore, right now, so... Really, not disagreeing with the complaints. Just saying that methods exist.

Oh, sorry, I forgot there was such a post.

Glad to help!

For what it's worth, I added an edit to that post that you missed that even the guide creator seems to agree that they're an annoying chore rn.

So really really not disagreeing with any of the complaints. Just trying to share what methods are known to deal with the Buzzards rn... Because chore methods are better than no methods at least~
