I don't want miniatures in the boardgame, I only want 2D acrylic

Hello, don't know where to post so that the kickstarter designers see this

I don't want any 3D art for the boardgame, I like the 2D version much better, so I got the standard edition instead

My problem is this:

I want to buy the expansion called Lands Uncharted but it has miniatures... 
I want the 2D art of the rook, bishop, etc.

I see there is a "monster pack", which is the style I love ❤️ but I don't think it has the expansion monsters

Can the expansion monsters have either:

1. Acrylic 2D art included alonside figurines

2. Have a separate 2D art expansion version to select instead

I am about to make the purchase as the game is 100% a good boardgame from my research.

This unfulfilled need is the one blocking my purchase.

100% want to have the 2D art version of the boardgame ONLY

I don't see acrylic 2D for the expansion

They will consider it, and more backing options will appear as time goes on.

Will keep this thread updated when the 2D acrylic version of expansion arrives.

Expansions are quite common for board games. Though, having expansions for a game that isn't even out yet is weird.

Extra content is very necessary to be optional for boardgames.

Sometimes you don't want to engage with some mechanics.

Other times you only want a simpler version of the game.

And other times you are running out of shelf space.

It's here! They are $5 cheaper than the minis version which is barely different at all, so I think this is exclusively for people who prefer acrylics over minis.

At the same time, they'll be producing and sending acrylics, minis and painted minis to everyone and making no-one happy. I'm starting to consider dropping the whole thing.

Are you misunderstanding something?

If you only want acrylics, you're still getting Walter, Wolfgang, Chester and likely Abigail miniatures, as well as Wolfgang and Maxwell painted figures. If you only want miniatures, you're still getting some random mob acrylics (killer bee, pig guard, koalefant). Same for painted miniatures, with the caveat that as of now there's no announced painted figure for Wigfrid. If you want neither minis nor acrylics, there's no such option for Reign of Giants or Lands Uncharted (granted, might be ok for RoG). If you want both acrylics and minis, GCU says you'll have to buy the expansions twice. And Constant Curiosities includes cardboard standees unmatched outside of the Terrain Pack.

There's the positive way to see it: "you're just getting extras on top of what you want". But it bothers me that they're shoehorned in. And I'm getting tired of GCU's clumsy communication and teasing.

Sadly I will have to throw them away, I am quite the minimalist and need the boardgame shelf space and don't like minis in general.

Give them to your pets as a chew toy. I also dont like the minis but the bigger issue for me is having an incomplete set that would feel like its pressuring me to buy to complete it. I might also try re-selling them online idk, i dont anyone who plays dst/ds irl.
