How do you get into this hidden Sanctum?
And how do you activate the puzzle?

You have to find the whirlpool on the ocean (it has a map icon) and enter it, it puts you into this smaller archive island. I think you have to have an activated archive in order to teleport from there to the puzzle island. Other than that it has a hole you can jump into that takes you back to the archives (onto the sealed portal, which is interesting).

By the way, did anyone find a way to attack the megablight? Nothing I tried works on it.

it is marked as "tough combat" entity, sorta like some material needs special tool to mine without recoil, so theres gonna be a new weapon that can do "tough combat" next week to kill it

Tried Brightshade sword and bomb but no luck yet :(
Will keep ya posted if something works

Neither brightshade nor void equipment works. You can't mine it with shmasher. Can't set it on fire, freeze it, electrocute it or put it to sleep. It won't eat anything off the floor, and you can't give it anything. Won't react if you're wearing dreadstone equipment (was worth a shot). All the worm does is eat miasma and destrox everything.

Oh boy. I hope that won't be the case.

How wonderful. All we needed is yet another worm enemy in the caves that destroys everything. Where does this thing spawn, I hope not in dreadstone outcrop?

No, it essentially has its own biome that seems to spawn next to a green grassy biome with the staircases. Btw in the world I generated, the tentacle to the atrium also spawned in this biome. I hope this won't be a feature, because I liked that the green mushroom/bat biomes had something useful in them.

Thanks. I like that the new worm spawns in its own biome and I hope it stays this way. That's how destructive bosses should be added to existing worlds.

Doesn't seem likely as the Beta World I generated had the Atrium Tentacle quite far off from the new Fumarole Vent Biome.

Fumarole Biome all the way above in the image.

What do the new trees do or drop?

Can't test that myself currently.

They can drop any of the gems, and you can actually see them hanging from the tree if they are there. It's probably not super common, though.

Other than that, rock, nitre and twigs.

When this Dreadstone-shaped centipede dies, it drops a large amount of Dreadstone and Pure Horror. The longer and more segments it has, the greater the loot—I obtained over 70 Dreadstones in one go.

How did you kill her?

New secret archive area entrance

Shadow and Lunar rifts set to always

Wow, this feels so random. Why is the entrance to the archive-like underground area located in the random waters and entered via a boat crash? Why not through something more fitting, I don't know...like this Sealed Portal that has no other purpose anyway? Or did they just forget this thing exists?

Wonderful, that finally fixes the massive problem with dreadstone availability.

Dreadstone wall duping was mostly what I used the mimicreep construction amulet dupe on. With this, I don't mind so much that we lost it.

The ceiling of the lunar grotto is full of giant moon glass pools with ocean water pouring down from above, so it makes sense that a more dilapidated area of the archives would be found via yourself entering from the ocean above.

The sealed portal does have lore relevance and a gameplay function related to this area, the teleporters from room to room in this new part of the archives seem to function on the same technology, and exiting the area dumps you out AT the sealed portal, implying that this is where the entrance would normally be if the portal hadn't been sealed.

Is it random? The lunar grotto exists from the ocean leaking down into the caves, so it doesn't seem too strange for a whirlpool to drop you off into another lunar area (the "vault" in this case).

If anything, the "egress" that you jump into to leave the vault feels more like a placeholder, especially since it drops you right on top of the sealed portal for some reason. Although maybe the vault is canonically above the archives?
