ExqEmb
Or more like an addition. Dupe attribute training has always been kind of awkward outside of Machinery and Athletics, where you stick them in a gym, which is a room where they run on manual generators forever. I think a good way to improve this would be the addition of classrooms. How I imagine them working is a science focused dupe is a teacher, and their teaching skill depends on their science. The teacher would learn the attribute by the addition of skill books, which could be crafted, for example, using data banks and fiber, and then reused. But learning through books is slow unless your science is high, and so the fastest way to teach multiple new dupes would be to get students to a classroom to be taught. Then you can set dupes to go to the classroom if their skill is too low. The classroom errand for the teacher would be called if a student goes to sit down there. I think this addition would both improve a part of the game that has always felt a little barebones, and give Klei a chance for hilarious classroom animations (such as dupes flying paper airplanes or falling asleep on the classroom table). And an animated short alongside it I believe would be great 5 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167549-an-overhaul-to-dupe-attribute-training-classrooms/ Share on other sites

axxel
I'd spent leftover skill points on attributes. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167549-an-overhaul-to-dupe-attribute-training-classrooms/#findComment-1832479 Share on other sites

Maybe instead of a class room it could be a student\mentor system? we could assign a new dupe to assist a veteran dupe in their various task so they could get skilled up quicker? I think the best would be increased recreation stationa that give temp boosts - Soda machine etc. This allows the dupes to gain experience faster by being more proficient and allows players to push dupes over the max stats. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167549-an-overhaul-to-dupe-attribute-training-classrooms/#findComment-1832702 Share on other sites

I wonder if gas range food could get the same treatment? By having different stats buff for differents recipes, it would encourage late game food variability if we want to really min/max our dupe. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167549-an-overhaul-to-dupe-attribute-training-classrooms/#findComment-1832801 Share on other sites

While I understand the appeal of giving people a good reason to provide food variability, buffing food was supposed to be the domain of the very underused spice grinder. I'd much rather see this building be made useful. That being said, one does not exclude the other. Both mechanics can coexist. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167549-an-overhaul-to-dupe-attribute-training-classrooms/#findComment-1832895 Share on other sites
