Okay look im just an amateur chess noob who lost the first and only game of chess played on the forums in shameful fashion no less, but even after i set that bar low Charlie and Winona have since surpassed my expectations

As we can see (i dont mind the 6x8 board that much it must have been constraining to draw from that perspective and they did get half the dimensions right this time) we are at an endgame

Charlie, assumedly the stronger player, has the advantage, with an extra bishop

Charlie checks Winona's king with her rook

Winona ignores the check. My assumption is she pushed her pawn to get closer to promote

Ignoring Winona ignoring the check, as well as the hanging rook in the middle of the board, Charlie then proceeds to push her own pawn. (As we see in the interlude.)

With this gameplay in mind what ELO do you guys think they have? Vote and discuss lmao

501 to 800 is above average?

I must have been playing against grandmasters then. :wilson_facepalm:

Im a little skewed the 800s ive played again have some functional tactical knowledge i can slip and lose despite being and that puts them above average to me

With this in mind and a google search i did not do beforehand ive corrected the poll options lmao

It's not Charlie playing. Metheus is actually giving her advice. (You can see her briefly when Maxwell walks past Charlie.) Charlie is cheating here.

Now we gotta check the next stream if the ceiling has a mirror...

His arrogance knows no bounds. Seeing him lose brought me great joy. PoS needs to learn humility.

(Seriously, I also hope the new blood like Gukesh, Pragg, Volodyr, Faustino Oro, et al continue to rise and finally end this era of one man's sheer dominance over the sport)

Pre nightmare charlie is definitely the type of person to say "at least I know how pieces move" and move the knight diagonally.

post nightmare charlie still has an ELO of 10 and thats why the plot has been moving so dramatically slowly

Engineering degree lets you arm your pawns with trebuchets, though this strategy is generally frowned upon in the competitive chess community for some reason

you say that and yet the Tennison Gambit: Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Variation opening exists

The unpredictable nature of trebuchets makes it almost impossible to counteract and deemed as barbaric, while Tennison Gambit: Intercontinental Ballistic Missile can be retaliated with a properly placed UNO Reverse Card.

I think Winona would be way smarter than Charlie at chess if they were at the same level of theory and all that. But considering Winona's personality she probably finds chess boring and some "nerd stuff", while Charlie is the one that gets more into theory, specially if she was also playing chess with Maxwell
