Judging by the animation in the finale, when the Celestial Scion captures Wagstaff, you can see that they seem to have flown up to the moon.

There is a version that the portal in the archives can transfer you to the moon and after passing through it you need to save Wagstaff and fix the portal that he built in the cinematics so that the survivors can escape.

No. For the betterment of the story, letting him die to show how powerful They can be, a 'sacrifice' must be made. And what better way to have said sacrifice other than a man who kept leeching a god's powers without knowing his limits?

I think trapping him (forever?) in the constant (like our ragtag group of survivors) would be much more fitting as the survivors are people he had just been using as tools and giving him the Maxwell treatment not only would be a cool parallel but also would be more rewarding gameplay wise as a new character

also im a huge wagstaff glazer and would be upset if he died especially like this in such a unceremonious way (few second long animation)

IDK, being absorbed into an actual godlike entity in your final moments sounds like a pretty exotic way to go out.

I suppose it is when you put it like that and i was gonna say i just wish he had better final words but saying “I don’t understand” from him the man who seems to know it all is quite a good way to do it so I suppose I wouldn’t mind so much now

I honestly vote to have him not come back. Would make the end of this part of the story quite meaningless.

His introduction was curious. But I always felt like the lunar side of the story was wasted ever since the end of Return of Them.

We had all the build up to the crazy cool new moon god. Just to have it get overshadowed by Wagstaff, for the entirety of the rifts story the moon has been pushed so hard to the background. If he comes back I hope we atleast get a long while with the moon being the actual spotlight of the lunar side.

Maybe we can give him a cooler end like have him come back puppeteered by Alter as a vessel for it to talk to us or something. But I don't know. All the build up of showing how bad of a person Wagstaff is would be kind of wasted if he just showed up perfectly fine, since unlike Maxwell, he seems unredeemable.
