Title. Do I really need to explain why? Crown shards get a LOT of mileage compared to Spark Arks. Spark Arks pile up like crazy in the endgame. I'm sure a great deal of us would enjoy burning through the stacks upon stacks of these things. At this point, they're more decor than anything. And they also fit the design of catching gestalts, because they already catch things.

Maybe it's because spark arks are hard to mass produce, while crown shards is available anytime and comes 6 each time you kills cc, though personally I just dont get why a mainstory line boss requires someting produced by another endgame-like boss to summon, and requires so many

How is 7 Spark Arks any better than 7 Crown Shards?? You'd have to play over 210 days to kill W.A.R.B.O.T for the first time, then over 140 days for every kill after if we assume it will have any drops that make it worth killing it again. This just takes away too much player agency.

Mimics cannot replicate the Spark Ark.

I am all for new uses for it, but this ain't it.

How about Restrained statics then??

 

Easier to farm (wigfrid already uses them to upgrade her spear anyways), quicker than waiting for the next seasonal boss in rotation, and you still get a cc crown as a bonus in the process, just in case klei decides to add a crown shard as material for yet somethinig else XD

or even making it that the net part gets used and you are left witht he staff part , so you "repair it" with more statics/arks to keep using it. cause for a one time use item, this is really expensive as it is rn

Currently the options we have are:

Kill Celestial Champion twice for 6 shards each, 12 total.
Per Celestial Champion kill (You need to kill it twice so x2):
1 Restrained Static.
8 Scrap.
15 Moongleams.
30 Infused Shards.
2 Electrical Doodads.
1 Deconstruction Staff use.

Then you'd have to kill Celestial Champion "only" once for the next 5 kills, and this is all in a vacuum ignoring wanting/having to use the shards for other things.

Or kill it once and have a mimic copy one Phasmo-Encapsulator. But if you're willing to use mimics why not make only one Phasmo-Encapsulator and forever use mimics to copy it for future kills? So you'd only need to ever make one Phasmo-Encapsulator.

The problem is that we are assuming mimics being able to copy the Phasmo-Encapsulator and getting full use out of it will remain in the game. This interaction might be taken out of the game, we don't know.

Now for Restrained Static:

As Restrained Static cannot be copied by mimics, yo
u'd have to do the Wagstaff minigame 7 times. Considering Klei changed Celestial Champion from needing 3 Restrained Statics per kill to 1 due to complaints, this is not ideal (I dread the thought of having to do that minigame 7 times). It is not a fun thing to do repeatedly.

It becomes a matter of opinion, and it may vary if we don't have a reason to kill W.A.R.B.O.T more than once.

It should probably explode in your hands when you try to use it on a lunar entity.
