YouKnowWho142
I really think the WARBIS armor is in a bad spot, especially with the increased need for enlightened shards. Firstly, I don't like at all how an armor that was apparently designed to make combat more accessible to console players is locked behind post rift content, that entirely defeats the purpose, but that's not the focus here. Before, being forced to choose between the enlightened crown and the WARBIS armor already made WARBIS armor extremely obsolete, especially when brightshade armor is easier to get, synergizes better with planar weapons, doesn't require going out of your way for, has an alignment, lets you keep the crown, and for a lot of players even easier to amass repair kits for. The only character that I really even like the WARBIS on is Winona, who has no particular alignment benefits, has an incentive to deconstruct the crown already for her gemerators, and gets tons of free scrap and doodads for repair kits (a genuinely clever synergy). Now, however, the WARBIS armor is forced to compete not with whether or not you want to keep the crown, but rather whether or not you want to even continue progression. I think the enlightened shard cost for the beta is extremely overtuned already requiring you to beat celestial champion a second time to progress, and even if it does stay this way where you'd have leftover shards from the second cc the incentive for the WARBIS armor is extremely weak. I feel as if it wouldn't be entirely unreasonable for the cost of the WARBIS armor to be replaced with something like restrained static, which has been seeing more uses already, and would make WARBIS more competitive with the other post rift armors which are extremely cheap by comparison. Well-met
not to mention by being locked so far away, it fails to fill in the niche of competing with the dreadstone items scrappy needs to drop the blueprints pre-rift and the shard cost of WARBISes should be changed to a high count of gears Edited May 23, 2025 by Well-met 4 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/165804-the-warbis-armor-should-have-a-bit-of-a-recipe-change/#findComment-1817214 Share on other sites
Radicaljoe
warbis is such a sad set, the buffs aren't consistent enough, the cost is astronomical, and it's only repairable post rift where you have access to better planar armor anyway. (Yes I know technically you can use the repair kit from scrappy but like... a whole boss fight to repair 1 item is not a selling point) 3 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/165804-the-warbis-armor-should-have-a-bit-of-a-recipe-change/#findComment-1817217 Share on other sites
Thieverpedia
A cost lowering and a rework of its mechanics would be well received at this point. The radius for the damage boost is entirely too low, and you lose it the instant you switch targets. 2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/165804-the-warbis-armor-should-have-a-bit-of-a-recipe-change/#findComment-1817414 Share on other sites
ShadowDuelist
Agree on warbis pre rifts and I really don’t think the “works only in battle” buffs are being useful at all. I think the chest slot armor should grant a basic speed bonus - like a magi- that is permanent: as long as you are also wearing the helmet. And the combat bonuses should stay active much longer even when you are kiting or switching targets. The game knows when you are in combat and when you aren’t. Of course you shouldn’t be able to activate the combat bonuses by hitting a training dummy, or a lureplant or chester, but fighting a valid enemy like a couple of spiders should already activate the thing. Much more similar to how Wigfrid powers work. The armor should then be up-gradable with post rifts stuff, so if you choose so,it could be your go to armor set in the post rifts era, bssically giving players a true choice of going lunar magic, shadow magic, or “technology” Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/165804-the-warbis-armor-should-have-a-bit-of-a-recipe-change/#findComment-1817420 Share on other sites
