I mean... is it a great idea to start introducing MORE things that will eventually be just another unfinished side-project?

I'm not going to point it out either, but concluding the lunar arc.... Bit different to our last comms.

Considering the fact that we had a mod comment saying the team was concerned just before the roadmap was axed, i'm not buying 'we don't want to spoil upcoming plans before certain things happen in the game, and before we're far enough along with our post-arc development to communicate that to you. '

That's also not what the tone of the last comms to the community was, don't lie to us :s

Skill trees for example. Basicly character rework 2.0

This kind of update can be repeated forever at this point, considering how many things Klei add and change. So adjustments are always needed. Instead of making game content first and then updating characters, they do it in reverse.

Ah, I see. If you will allow me to express some other points of view, I would love to try to put some of your worries at ease. While Klei is basically re-reworking the characters, the purpose for this iteration is balance, which I believe they are doing quite well by allowing less strong characters to catch up with the strongest characters. Klei is also providing these updates to us for free, this is my distinction between milking content and giving content. Studios like EA and more recently (and debatably) Nintendo have been forcing players to pay unreasonable prices for their games’ content. This, in turn will drive away the players because of them using their game as nothing more than a cash grab. Klei, to my knowledge and opinion is against this sort of behavior, and trust me, I am too. I understand your concerns though, the skill trees felt limiting at first because there were only a select few characters that were more powerful than the rest. This can feel like they are farming content because of their limited ability to roll out all of the characters at once, however, this is more due to their team size. Remember, they are an indie studio at the end of the day.

I also want to thank you for being open and honest, that’s a very mature thing of you to do.

dawg, they have many branches for diffrent games and basicly sold themself to China. They are anything but an indie company these days.

They are doing free updates? I mean yeah, they are makin em to keep people entertained and interested in the game, thefore game becomes more popular = more copies are sold. And skill trees are taking way too long time. When the last update with an actual content was? I dont even remember. But hey, at least were getting gamble update. yay.

I will not try to change your mind on this issue, but I will say this: Klei has been working very hard behind the scenes to bring us content that we all enjoy. I know this because I am a game maker in training and I know how hard it is to even remotely make a mediocre game. I understand that this game nor this community is perfect, but that’s normal and a perfectly okay thing to accept. There is always room for improvement, that is true, but I think people should engage in more downward comparison than upward (forgive me for using psychology in my message lol).

I would sure like to believe in this... "Theory", but all were getting these days are "wait for mid summer to get your roadmap, enjoy your untoggable poker crossover, bozo"

They hid the milk content. But they are clearly fixated on DST. They obviously have a lot of ideas for both DS and Shipwrecked and Hamlet, but they don't give money. Therefore, DST gets too many things and it looks like milking. In addition, Klei is not trying to make a game in any way... More Uncompromising...

As I stated previously, you are entitled to your opinion as I am mine. If you want a solution, I would suggest to vote with your wallet.

I don't know what you're referring to about the devs being concerned, but the only time I've seen them talk about this roadmap it was exactly what they are saying here

Please don't start this again, you'll never convince anyone by repeating the same thing over and over again

I do regret feeding the beast. I will now disengage from this conversation.

Is the Jimbo machine not being toggleable really that big of a deal? I feel like y'all are making a mountain out of a molehill, especially since the update only just dropped

Interesting to see Gestalts being capable of possessing mechanical things. Quite the implications.

Makes me wonder if Wagstaff'll make some more automata for the gestalts to inhabit? I mean, he was holding up some kind of robot head in the 2024 Halloween comic and even pulled out WX's old blueprints in the Host of Horrors trailer. Man, just what IS that old geezer up to?!

Honestly. Klei makes content, but they hardly test it.  There is such an imbalance of things in the game, some items and resource sources are simply useless. They're going to add another boss and late game content when they have half the game unbalanced... and they're going to shake the balance even more...
from simple firedarts being a poop, to having 1 world map on multiplayer, pvp and singleplayer is really bad.

I imagine this video could have some implications for WX's skill tree

Are you sure you're not one of the main composers? This legit sounds perfect for the next update.

Blah blah blah. Have respect. I can chat with other people on the forum on almost any topic. Just like you can, just like anyone can.
And what exactly are you talking about?

Я сожалею, что накормил зверя. Теперь я ухожу от этого разговора.

Oh, thanks. Om nom nom.

So I guess this means that gestalts are capable of inhabiting or possessing more than just living organisms, I do have to wonder how wx or winona would respond to such a fact.

Best hide your contraptions from the curious little wisp, starting to wonder how much harm the gestalts are trying to cause on purpose. How much control do they have over their host when the host in question had or has its own will? The little one who possessed the arm just explored around and waved, perhaps the arm not having any consciousness to interfere with meant the little thing was in control completely?

I do love when new information crops up, so many possibilities for in game application and lore implications! I hope that update on the beta is sooner rather than later, been a bit of a slow moment for dst content.

also side theory/prediction, Wx will probably be in next skill tree update noting the new interactions of tech and lunar power.

PvP in DST is a joke, always has been. Idk who seriously can engage in  this game mode, its been broken since day 1.  Now, we have characters like Willow doing pure damage via shadow/lunar skills  and everyone is hiding in caves nor ocean. Its boring and unbalanced. Even Klei know that and dont do anything about it, which I totally respect and understand.

So you said that the game has a bright future ahead of it... That means one of 2 things

1 there's another arc that will follow up with the true endgame of dst

2 this will be the final arc with the true final boss and all but we will be seeing future updates with maybe optional post rift endgame super bosses for the veterans that crave for a challenge

Either way that's very very exciting news and I'm hyped to see what you are cooking

Singleplayer is essentially a joke, just like pvp.
And multiplayer is also a joke, but for those who are used to the joke singleplayer.
It would be nice for Klei to do something sometimes.
It's very hard to look at some useless things... Which are only needed for a completely blind first pass and feel like curse stuff...
seriously. The game needs a curse system, so that when crafting grass armor and other terrible things, you add a curse and complicate everything around you...
