Is the mobile version going to be optimized by Klei?

if Klei EVER intends to let them Cross-Play, then Both PC AND Console will need to be Nerfed to the point that it’s fair to Mobile players.

That's a wild take, but an effective argument against DST ever being cross-play. I've never wanted anything less if that were ever to possibly be the case.

Am I missing something or is this topic a bunch of people speculating on something non existent?

Why is ANYONE discussing nerfing PC because of controller?

The change they're talking about is how on console, when you switch an item that's equipped with something in your inventory, it stays in the same spot instead of being placed in the left most open spot.

This means on console, we don't need to have our entire inventory filled to prevent armor or weapons from jumping all over the place.

It's still good practice against fights like vs AFW, because switching too fast does cause it to move to the left most spot. But this now means it's much for fluid for people playing on console to switch between a cane and a weapon, or tool and weapon.

Prior to this change, you had zero way to fix any inventory issues without pausing. Do you wanna play every boss fight with auto pause on? Every hound wave with pausing? This includes fueling things like mags, watches, repair kits etc, because we have to slowly pick, drag, and fuel and if we mess up we have to do the entire process again, often having to tank damage while trying to repair or fuel something without auto pause on. We can't run around dodging hounds and fuel a lantern or repair something about to break.

The change is very subtle and not perfect but a huge QoL improvement for console. One that should have been part of DST from the start. There's no reason an item should jump to the far left of your inventory.

This also allows us to somewhat change animation cancel with two weapons, since we can't just click equip/unequip on say a hat to animation cancel.

It's fine to speculate, but I have to ask where you're getting this info from? Really doesn't reflect what Jesse was saying in his post.

I'll take my assumption and the game would release for generally strong phones more than weaker ones majority of the world has. It's insane to think this game would come to mobile though, this isn't a DOOM game where it can fit into any household appliance, let alone an android phone. How will controls be? Will there be modding? Won't hosting a game would be a lot for the phone to handle, or there will be dedicated servers set up for free/paid?

Like. I want to see this game have MORE interesting content, I am afraid these mobile releases will take away the ability to make something more daring than usual. Or it even to permanently slow down game's development.

Agree. Seems like klei lately wants easy money over quality content... Well, maybe isn't a new thing considering that DS was first conceive as a free2play with micro transactions game...

He said consoles have changes for controllers, and that's been the only change that's happened since I've started playing.

I've also seen other topics with people asking for that change to come to PC. Though I can't remember if anyone from Klei mentioned anything in those topics.
