Guille6785
I started routing this run as soon as the Walter skill tree got revamped and I thought I'd share it here since it contains a lot of useful Walter tech and makes heavy use of the new stuff he got with unique fight strategies (instead of just being the same as Wilson for combat), so if you're interested in seeing the new Walter played at his max potential this run should be very fun to watch. I even managed to sneak in a first autumn CC kill which I wasn't sure was going to be possible: To make the run more interesting I banned myself from using a cane or lazy explorer and I tried to incorporate the slingshot into every fight without cheesing any of the bosses. Overall I love the Walter skill tree and think it succeeded in making him an interesting character at all levels of play; some people complained about stacking slows making bosses too easy but I think this video shows that if you play Walter effectively you won't even want to use slows at all since they aren't remotely necessary to kill bosses fast (which I think is how things should be) (My last run I did with Walter pre-skill tree that I also posted here was over an hour and a half slower, which is largely due to using a much less efficient route but also because the skill tree saves a lot of time that I previously spent in combat or farming monster meat for Woby) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/164508-skill-tree-walter-no-hit-run-rushing-rifts/ Share on other sites
Picklesaurus
Did you find Woby here Woby there usefull for your run? The advanced frames skill is only really usefull if one plans to go for slowing rounds? Are dreadstone rounds worth using? Frames aren't really good for rushing like this since they're kind of pricey and don't do a lot but I could see the scrappy frame being worth getting for a safer no-hit route (kind of like getting a bow in a dark souls no hit run) 3. Dreadstone rounds are good to the extent that you can craft a bunch just from getting nightmare werepig to half health and have more consistent DPS than cursed rounds while also being scienceless, but in this run I only fought nightmare werepig near the end and I almost always managed to get the bosses to take most of the damage from the shadow tentacles so I only used them for the first phase of fuelweaver to make it easier to count damage before moving him out of the inner circle (I used epic health bar in silent capture mode which means I couldn't actually see the health bars in-game) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/164508-skill-tree-walter-no-hit-run-rushing-rifts/#findComment-1802949 Share on other sites
_mylilsunshine_
this 3hr30m video will go great with my dinner also thank you for the tech, i'll be compiling anything i find useful here, [1] kidnapping pearl so she can't go back to her house and not count the task is a diabolical idea lol. a bit too mischievous for my taste. any particular reason why you leave out some tasks before others? like not fertilizing bushes right away, not building the houses right away, drying with monster meat, etc.? [2] that fuelweaver fight is insane, crazy how you can keep up with so many things to do, and you play walter&woby like a true cavalry. you inspired me to ditch the slow-down round and fight head on (also to spite people) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/164508-skill-tree-walter-no-hit-run-rushing-rifts/#findComment-1802977 Share on other sites
Cheggf
I'm gonna sad react this because all Pearl wanted to do was rest her old chitin, and you wouldn't allow her. You wouldn't allow her to despite the fact that it was time to. I dried the monster meat first so it would turn into jerky as early as possible and the chair to get her on the boat so she doesn't go back home at dusk, other than that you just catch butterflies during the day and get the garbage during dusk and the other tasks can be done at any point Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/164508-skill-tree-walter-no-hit-run-rushing-rifts/#findComment-1803012 Share on other sites
