its still a full skill point. wendy and walter have both gotten pretty damn good items for that much!

Yes, it is a full skill point, but you will be using that skill point to get to soul jars anyway so it's not really wasted :-| Unless you're one of those masochist that plays without the jars. I'm getting shivers just thinking about them/s

Wortox:

  • Knabsack may now be used as a Bug Net.

Can you make it so the interaction button - default is space bar I think - tries to catch bees just like a bug net would? Having to click on the bees to capture them feels really akward, I missclicked a lot of the times when trying to use the knabsack to do this and since bees are usually angry when you are trying to capture them my missclicks when trying to catch them would lead me to walk towards them instead and get stung, it felt really bad.

Edit: I just read the post above mine, they will be changing it.

yes i play without soul jars, i like the knabsack because it can catch a lot of items very quickly. i'm thinking about the knabsack as its own item, not as an item that you're forced to obtain for the item you want.

@V2C What are we talking about? Which containers are we talking about exactly?)

  • You can now use the Store action on portable containers in your inventory while mounted.

Ones like Walter's ammo bag or Polar Bearger Bin, if they are in your inventory, you should be able to pick up another item and hover over it to get an action to Store the item without opening the container.  Previous to this update, that action did not work while you were mounted.

In that case I can see where you're coming from, but I have another question though. Why do you need that much critter in the first place. Soul batteries? If that's the case you probably won't even need to touch that branch in the first place though. Thulecite net is also right there. Sorry if my previous post sounds aggressive tho I just want to make a joke

magnificent, now I can finally put back my twigs in the spectacler box

many thanks Klei <3

5% per critter is more than fair imo, since it's so, so cheap. Basically double the normal one with negligible soul cost, which for a tier 1 skill is pretty good.

sure, but it will alsol lose durability for any other reasons its supposed to be used for

Thank you for explaining!

Oh, that's what was doing it. And here I thought I was tripping.

its completely alright, thank you for clarifying ^_^

catching a bunch of critters for the sake of having souls on-the-fly (like pre-soul jars, but knabsack aoe makes it far less tedious) is a viable use case, although its likely not one im imagining ill utilize myself. maybe it could make soul farming faster, come to think of it, just catching them and killing them in your inventory. i do think id like to experiment with that in gameplay some...

regardless, though, for my own personal uses, i've primarily run into the issue of having to teleport back to my base to make bug nets when chopping down lune trees on the lunar island (which i do have at my base as well, but sometimes its faster to just do it while im there if i need to make glass cutters and things anyways). say i go there with a half durability knabsack, which ive already been carrying around and knabbing items with for a few in-game weeks. ill only be able to chop down around 5 lune trees before it breaks, and thats not even accounting for wanting to scoop up the logs and blossoms with it too.

its just a bit underwhelming, you know? it's not awful for the current craft recipe, but it's inconsistent with what the durability for knabbing other things is, it feels like. which is why i'd like for the recipe to be more expensive in exchange for less durability taken. even just ~3% durability per creature caught instead of 5% would be good, i think.

edit: for the sake of comparison here, the knabsack normally has 200 uses. as a bugnet, it only has 20.

Controller changes will have to be something later after this release.

That kind of sucks. Wortox's affinity works best when you can teleport in place, but console doesn't have that functionality. Less damage with soul pierce too. It kind of makes a skilltree that revolves around teleporting bad when the teleport itself is bad.

Oh wait, nevermind, I misread it. I thought they changed pierce.

So... How much is the extra damage?

No extra damage, on paper they wanted to slap some single-target damage on decoy 2 so it does "anything"
from what I understand

but there's no interaction when I'm baiting a spider with decoy 2 as of now so IDK

EDIT:
My bad, I had a mod on
it does apply extra damage that works with decoy 3

I just tested it. It seems to deal a little bit of extra damage. Soul decoy III does 73 without covetous collector, ninety-something with it.

It's aight. More reasons to skip pierce.

In overall changes are good for Wortox
Soul Bastion got a lil twist which makes it feel more special than just plain stat buffs
also unexpected decoy buff removed awkward progression and made Covetous Collector slightly appealing

I wonder if Lunar Swindler will get any changes because... c'mon
and can't wait for the knabsack visuals that were announced back then
