there are alot of threads of these things allready

knapsack is bad as a weapon with needing alot of soul jars with souls filled just to do DARKSWORD damage

decoy 2 does litteraly nothing

soul damage to realy do much with it you have to do capture lots of bees and the likes, and it realy not the worth it

nice and naughty idle animations were NEVER mentioned in the update notes but random update dit add those

Dark sword damage with no debuff sounds pretty broken to me his decoys taunt the enemy and does explosion damage you can insta kill any boss just by teleporting around with the soul damage the only one I say is the naughty and nice skill tree animation maybe but that's because I haven't really looked into that

the downside is not using your souls and filling your inventory slots with like 3 or so soul jars to be even able to do dark sword damage while you could just....make a dark sword, maybe even a glass cutter if you feel like it

the explosion only happens on decoy 3, wich makes decoy 2 worthless as lasting longer does a whole lot of nothing if its goin to get attacked instandly anyways, and the explosion is not even that damagin

insta kill.....after like....gettin 100 bees first and teleporting back and forth and just hoping you turn the camera fast enought to make a distance to not collect the souls

oh and all these skills NEED another skill to even get max potential so another point down the drain

Maybe this is my personal opinion and you all can feel free to disagree with this but I don’t think that a characters strengths or “fun-factor” should ever and I mean EVER be designed around what they are capable of doing with a Keyboard and Mouse. If playing the character with a PlayStation, Xbox, Switch or even a mobile smart phone feels significantly gimped compared to its PC counter-part: Klei needs to probably go back to the drawing board Entirely and come up with new concepts that do NOT involve having precise control over Wortox’s Teleportation.

This is why Myself and others… have suggested adding new features to Wortox to give those of us playing with controllers fun new toys to play around with and enjoy that do not revolve around (his already extremely limited on to a fixed direction and location on a controller) teleportation.

This means: FFS Klei let the Knabsack actually work as a Bugnet+Grass Trap+Bird Cage to snag up various critters of the constant.

cause I’m just gonna be brutally honest- Wortox’s Decoys are going to be about as useful for Xbox players as Wanda’s Backtreck ability is actually viable in any given combat scenario in a controller.

Part of this post is an entire rant about how PC is superior to Controllers, but also: Characters should be FUN. And Wortox’s Skill Tree sounds like the opposite of that for me.

I will reserve my final judgements for once the skill trees are live and I can actually voice my concerns over them- But by then: It’ll be far too late.

With that said: despite being a “Wendy Main” the character I’m most looking forward to playing out of these 3 is actually Walter.

Why? Because his entire gameplay is getting a lot of new stuff to make him more interesting, meanwhile: unless Klei adds new effects and things Wendy can do with “Haunt on Command” It’s no where near as game changing as something like “Woby Here, Woby There” Will be.

What a wonderful mindset. Lets make the game worse for everyone instead of suggesting something to improve the version off inferior systems

What is so bad about the wortox skill tree? I get that some skills can be seen as lackluster for some, but I personally really like it. Would you mind explaining why some people are so hellbent on it being changed?

Cloudy Carmen needs a bugfix for multiplayer, though I'd prefer they replace it with anything else.

I still dislike how you're forced to get the knabsack to get the jar.

Soul decoy 2 is, from what anyone can tell, effectively worthless, or it possibly even makes decoys worse because you want them to explode.

Reaching souls 2 actively hurts you, it makes overloading easier.

Even compared to other filler skills, the above are horrible. It's beyond "they're worthless". You have to take them to get their capstones, and they're negative to you.

Soul bastion 2 could use something for soloers, and a slight buff in general. You're forced to take it for an 8/6 Nice + Affinity build, unless you want to go for a branch (lifegiver) that does nothing for you, solo. It would be nice if at least gave you a double hit of sanity.

Knabsack multigrab nukes its durability, last I checked. A pretty silly amount. Try using it on a Reapered stack of clumped up kelp.

Forgot to mention, too, 8 Nice and 6 naughty build for Nice solo inclination is the only really good option.

If you go under 6 Naughty, you lose either soul damage entirely, or Overflowing Greed. Greed is really hard to skip in a Nice inclination build. Losing soul damage is awful solo, as thats what lets you get souls faster than ham-batting one bee at a time now.

You could go 7 Nice, 4 Naughty, 3 Neutral instead as a solo Nice build, but it's pretty crappy in comparison for a normal solo game. The neutral talents just aren't really a direct competitor for anything, they're more like a "well, I have some points left over from my Naughty inclination build" option.

Fair. I guess what I was trying to say was that I love the concept of Wortox’s skill tree. That said, even I will admit it can be a bit janky at some points. That said, I trust Klei. Remember when everyone was upset about Wolfgang? That turned out well in the end.

Unfortunately, its this exact statement that got apparently misconstrued early in the Beta by the Devs. People really liked the design/concept of the skilltree and seemingly Klei thought that meant he was good to go almost immediately and most of the complaints have gone unanswered. The reason why so many people aren't confident on anything changing is because the Devs usually reference things that they are looking to change in the patch notes and if its not referenced to, nothing changes. For example almost every single update Wendy received was related by the Devs and they gave plans on future changes, same with Walter but the only thing Wortox got mentioned for was a BugNet Knabsack and there's a ton more pressing issues that have been brought up for months. However I'm still remaining hopeful kinda.
