Wendy : I want Wraith's Wreath buff.

Recommended Posts

Wraith's Wreath is one of the most interesting additions to Wendy, but it still feels like it needs some buffs and tweaks to be fully utilized, and with further buffs and tweaks, I hoped to become a one of core aspect of playing Wendy.

  • Wraith's Wreath spoils too quickly (10 days: 40 minutes 80 minutes, Thanks Crestwave.)  This is exactly what I want as if this is reflected, there is no need to change anything else. It doesn't matter to Wendy, when another character uses it, it spoils really quickly as I little hesitate to use it. The original 10 days is already too short, and the rate of spoil accelerates due to temperature and wet. It's fine 3-4 time the amount of Mourning Glory in the ingredients, I would like increase the spoilage time to 15 days, if I could say luxury 20 days.
  • Move the Wraith's Wreath to Mourning Glory III and the Perennial Altar to Mourning Glory II. If we have to Nerf Wraith's Wreath, I would suggest this. It would fine Wraith's Wreath more powerful because it would cost something else. I think it's good that Wendy can choose to play not only as an attacker, but also as a supporter, elixir master.
  • Enables the use of Super Elixir. Please make it available. It's more fun with more interactions.
  • Tell how much time is left on the Wraith's Wreath buff. This will lead to death when using Nightshade Nostrum. I would be fine as the only Nightshade Nostrum that tells you how much time is left. When the time is running low, the night vision could flash like in Minecraft, or it could gradually get darker.
  • Unequip Wraith's Wreath will no longer cause the entire Elixir duration to be lost. I would like the effect of the elixir be reflected in the Wraith's Wreath, and when using the elixir, apply the elixir to the Wraith's Wreath instead of drinking it, and the color of the Wraith's Wreath change depending on the effect of the elixir. However, if this is reflected, Wraith's Wreath will be able to do the same thing as "Bone Armor Shuffle", so if reflecting this, I think it would be better to share the cooldown of Wraith's Wreath with other Wraith's Wreaths.
  • Vigor Mortis will just increase your movement speed, even little value. Current effect is too niche. Even if it's ok that only 5%, It would be fine increase in movement speed?

I agree! When they threw that in, my brain went: Finally, something that doesn't make me wanna snooze!

Seriously, PLEASE DON’T! This skill is the second most cursed thing after Ghost Revenge.

While its art style and animations are indeed commendable—precisely why I find this situation regrettable.

Let’s talk Ghost Revenge:

It has a self-sabotaging activation requirement (literally requiring you to die),

Delivers an underwhelming payback (a posthumous slap on the wrist for your killer)

— No Wendy mains would touch this.

I caught Klei's pre-Christmas stream where they mentioned it's meant as a design for players who might not survive their first winter.

While I appreciate the philosophy behind this design, it need not conflict with practical utility. The mechanic could be implemented in a more effective manner — for instance, simply removing the post-resurrection health cap penalty.

please, klei — I’m on my knees here, just do it already.

Vigor Mortis

Let's break down this item's revolutionary uses:

Professional statue relocation service

Marble armor cosplay while kiting mobs

......Is that you, Wolfgang?

Alright, now we all know why Wendy is too strong (sorry, this is just a joke—please don't ban me).

someone made the argument that neither morning glory nor the things it makes spoil, so why should the wreath. Thing is if they did that the cost would probably also have to go up and I am not sure I am prepared for that.

A timer on the buffs wouldn't hurt.

To make it not spoil it probably have to remove the +3.33/min sanity restore, but I'm totally fine with that. TOTALLY.

Actually, I would prefer that this wreath introduces some mechanisms that are not already in the game, rather than just repurposing existing ones. This kind of "repurposing" leads to so-called "balance" issues: if it's weaker than the original item, the skill becomes useless; if it's stronger, it becomes overpowered and needs to be nerfed. Moreover, simply repurposing existing mechanisms is also quite boring and lacks originality.

Actually I think to expand on removing the spoilage timer that it should instead make the spoilage represent the remaining time left for the potion.

maybe let the durability tied to if the sisturn altar filled with flowers or not. when its active wreath pause its spoil timer. i mean if wurt can have king to buff all wurt in server just by keeping king alive maybe this kind of treatment can be for wendy players too.

well i just spouting ideas to make them more useable for longertime, while i dont even mind if they have no freshnessmeter, but want them kinda engaging to players.

Offset up to 25% of slowdown form Equipped Item.
Wouldn't slowdown by Web Tile and Honey Trail.

Personally I feel like it's a bit underrated as marble suits off set large knockback attacks by turning them into smaller knockbacks and piggybacks can be very useful for transferring large amounts of items.

I don't think you're wrong. But adding something completely new from now on would extend the already pretty long development time. I think the current "Bone Armor + Moggle + Health Heal + Booster Shot" is unique enough. That said, it would be great to have at least one completely unique effect in it. Even if it's a post-beta addition but I'd be happy to wait.

That's a great idea I hadn't thought of!

I was thinking of another option "Move the Wraith's Wreath to Mourning Glory I and more Mourning Glory insight will buff Wraith's Wreath for other Player", but I couldn't think of a way to incrementally buff the Wraith's Wreath. However, your idea is perfect!

10 days is actually 80 minutes, so you can think of it as if they just buffed it to have double spoilage time!

Thank you point out.

Oof... I'm embarrassed at all. I got the premise wrong from first, I'm sorry everyone... It was my brain that was spoiled. (The "State In" in the Insight mod only until the food is half fresh, not until it spoils...)

However, I still personally think it would be better if it was a little more longer... It would spoil faster in the summer or if it gets wet.

Its' slowing debuff could be simply ignored by taming a Beefalo. So still, Wendy's "new" stuffs keep giving similar things like what we already have in base kit.

I don't think it's fair, why is Winona's rose glasses made of fresh flowers, but durable, and Wendy's wreath made of materials that are not fresh, but will decay when made, which is  deliberately disgusting to the player, too deliberate balance
