My post was mysteriously deleted, yet the harsh words of those people remain. Why?

Everyone today will cheer for the innovation of Walter's skill tree, and I am no exception. It's just that when I recall how Wendy's updates over the past few months couldn't even compare to a single change for Wobek, and how many people went out of their way to mock Wendy for supposedly affecting Walter's skill tree, I wonder if those people will apologize. I feel like they probably won't, at least not today. Because even today, there are still people insisting that Wendy = Walter > Wortox, and that kind of talk just breaks my heart.

The thread was not about the beta and offers no constructive or polite discussion about the beta update itself but rather it is an argument about other players and your criticism of them. Rather than send a warning, the post was hidden.

These comments are not constructive at all, and they even ignore the facts and stir up conflicts. Why haven't they been reviewed and deleted, but are still kept?

@JoeW I don't think it's appropriate for a competent manager to say, “You raised a problem that still exists, and I didn't solve it. I just hid the post and told you that I didn't give you a warning.”

You'd rather have a warning point?

The forums are to discuss the GAMES. If you're talking about your problems with a particular update in a thread about that update, that's on-topic discussion whether you like it or dislike it (though it should still be kept to a polite tone for the benefit of everyone who's reading it). The forums are not a place to discuss your problems with other members of our community. We're uninterested in providing a place for those discussions as they don't help us make the game better - have those discussions somewhere else.

Simply put, Joe spends time on the forums so that we devs have a place to find discussion about the GAMES without having to waste our time wading through personal attacks or other off-topic nonsense. Joe has a lot of other work to do - he's one of the most senior people at Klei - but he graciously spends his time here so that the rest of us can know what the community thinks without having to wade through a sewer to find it. If the forums are no longer capable of being a place for devs to find out community thoughts ON THE GAMES, then the forums are no longer serving their purpose and Joe's time is best spent elsewhere.

Does that make sense?

It appears that our understanding of consensus requires further negotiation. Let's address the most fundamental issue first.

I am the one who pointed out the current state of harmful behavior, and the purpose of my post is to question and resist this situation. As you know, this job should not have been mine in the first place.

But why did it fall on me? Because the moderators of this forum condone this state of harmful behavior. They allow harmful comments to remain, hurting the hearts of players who keep trying to make suggestions.

So when I could no longer bear it and, as a player, pointed out these harmful behaviors, Mr. Joew, as a moderator, immediately hid my post. Is this something to be praised?

When I inquired about the reason for hiding it, what reply did I get? "Your comments are not constructive. You didn't discuss it politely. I didn't give you a warning; I just hid it."

Please tell me, you condoned the harmful behavior, I pointed it out, and you immediately acted against me. Then, afterwards, you tell me, "We were merciful and didn't give you a warning."

How am I supposed to understand this? Am I supposed to be grateful that you didn't abuse your power? Am I supposed to be grateful for your biased actions? Am I supposed to be grateful that you didn't ban me for calling out your double standards?

From beginning to end, all I wanted was an apology from the perpetrator and a reasonable explanation from the moderators. I endured the endless arrogance I encountered on this forum, from other members and moderators, and insisted on posting content suggestions and explorations of conflicts in a respectful tone and with dedicated translations, which took up a huge proportion of my time.

So, what are you trying to say? "Moderators are above it all, and listening to players' opinions is just the moderators' kindness, and players should be grateful"?

Don't be too disappointing. What you're doing now is incredibly arrogant, something that ruins the reputation that Klei has built up over a decade.

If you insist on making me feel this way:

Only when immersed in endless praise do developers believe that "they understand the community through the forum."

Any arrogance and low-quality content from developers and moderators must be tolerated by players, and only then is a player's speech not considered "off-topic nonsense."

I will not stay here for another second. All my support and recommendations over the years are just my appreciation for your past efforts.

If that's what you want to say, then now, you don't deserve any of it.

TLDR: he feels like he should be allowed to show frustration about other people on forums when that isnt allowed, and then somehow connects that to devs only allowing praise and force players to suffer with skill trees, amking it out to be permanent, then announces his departure

Friendly reminder, don't respond to people you feel are violating forum rules by violating forum rules. Keep it focused on the games please! If only because every off topic post comes right out of our development time!

oh, you're right, I could 100% understand this and I'd support this if you give same standard toward different people.

Could you tell me why these things below is OK for our forum?

Problems with other members of our community but not problems about the game:

Slander toward specific or non-specific people, but not a discussion of the game:

I had picked up some of them before several times, by reporting → asking here → listed them in detailed way here (then that thread got hidden)

However, until I post this reply, none of these has been moderated.

So, could I (or some others) read this as a different moderation standard toward different forum users?

And it seems there's different warning standard toward different forum users as well.

these things (which just like you replied here) happened continuously and almost half of them is seems "OK" and got never a moderation until now.

I would support to make all "off topic personal thing" away from beta branch, if it had same standard to all forumers. But for me, for some of my friends, for some of the strangers (according to their words), it seems we obviously have a completely different standard toward different people, or, I have to say, toward different "attitude".

Could I read the different standard of the moderation as a tacit approval of a certain behavior (or some certain people's any behavior)?

Just a friendly reminder: don't favor the unappreciated content!

Some developers have received praise and recognition from day one, while others' work is still being met with continuous dissatisfaction and endless constructive feedback from the community. If you focus all your time on staunchly defending the low-quality content that the community despises, Constantly ignoring constructive suggestions! the developers' development time will become an endless supply of fuel for the fire beneath you!
