Will walters tree change finally show why wendys is bad?

Walter gets a whole bunch of utility buffs, Wendy has to deal with Haunt RNG still.

that's why I gave you a result of what happened at the early of the beta.

could you give a reasonable explanation to clarify why the early poll is muddied even Joew had said something I mentioned above to the poll?

The early result is out of date.  Sharing it now makes no sense, when it is from months ago when the skill tree was completely different.  The polls are also dumb, but that's a different issue.  I have no idea why you keep mentioning JoeW as if he is the principal or something 

I really don't see what the problem is about some characters specializing in combat. If Wendy could do everything, there wouldn't be need to have any other characters. Sounds to me that you want to have your cake and eat it too.

I think a big part of why Walter's updated tree feels so good, which some other skill trees could benefit from as well, is the amount of "single" skills you can pick out of. It lets the tree be more customisable, and gives more choice to the player, with the relatively regular amount of skills(26 I think?), which feels great. I think that could benefit Wendy too.

I mean to an extent it's mainly because his branch took the same design philosophy that Wendy's did but his base tool box was more geared towards utility most of the new utility skills are based on improving his existing skills rather than completely creating new ones.

He just said that people weren't making new accounts to mess with the poll.  The JoeW thing is not related, why do you keep bringing it up?

  I'm saying that people are just selecting the most Wendy beneficial option every time disingenuously.  You can see it in the polls about shadow vex yesterday, which is what truly convinced me of that.

Yeah, and I can easily tell is not as aggressive as it was as the beginning, but don't fret yourself if you can't tell the difference.

She effectively has 22 skill points to choose from with her affinity locking the other side out.

7 of those goes to potions
3 go to wreath
3 to the affinity
3to team spirit
3 for sisturn.

My problem with Wendy skill tree is basically:

-Too many skills dedicated towards potions and resources.
-Few of the new crafts have very practical uses.
-Any skill that give new buffs require constant maintenance/is a tradeoff/both.

a) It contrast quite heavily with the hands-free approach the regular Wendy design has, where you are handed Abigail for free, and she can do a significant chunk of the game's combat without help, to a skilltree that requires heavy investment, maintenance, and/or tradeoff to get almost any buffs out of it.

b) There's barely any skills that directly influence Abigail other than Team Spirit, all others require maintenance/tradeoff

c) Out of her new crafts, nothing is significantly meaninful to change how you play:
-Basket is QoL (quite nice)
-Reviving butterflies might be useful, until you decide you catch bees with a bugnet instead
-The Wreath is a bit of a mixed bag, I would rather them move it to the third in the line, and maybe put an extra point on it to buff it a bit more.
-Perenial altar is a meat effigy reskin, an item that is not that useful.

Then there's the new elixir, which while is a pain to farm, it does provide a new combat strategy.

 

Overall, the tree feels very conservative and very reluctant to grant meaninful buffs or even considering giving Abigail half the Bernie treatment, and is severely lacks Abigail perks despite Abigail being the most important Wendy perk.

I would report this thread because you gave a simple "disgenuously" accusation to those who just speak out their true voices from their heart.

The problem is that Wendy has a large number of players, which has led to multiple player groups and various skill tree demands. If we want to meet the needs of most players, Wendy's skill tree can only look like it can do anything. Unless Klei announces that in order to avoid Wendy being able to do anything, they have decided to shelve the demands of certain Wendy player groups.

But if we do this, some of these abandoned player groups will also give feedback on the forum.You can't both abandon them and try to stop them from speaking out.
