You know bug nets exist and Wendy can easily farm them right? Right?

It's almost as if someone doesn't play the game at all.

it's almost as if this change doesn't impact your gameplay negatively in any way?

That was night time damage with her potion:)

Ah, is that what you meant? I’m sorry, I might have misunderstood. I saw in your content that you said Lunar Abigail has higher DPS than Shadow Abigail, but the data doesn’t seem to support that.

no, but it is still a dark sword, that requires 2 additional skill points into covetous collector, 100 souls, and a filled inventory to be a dark sword. at least it has a niche now, but i can understand the sentiment.

imo it should have also given early access to the alignment skills. I have no idea what the other mid to lategame bug net will look like, but it could be interesting

What? I am pretty sure I was talking about moon moth reviving, not knabsack.

Hey guys, Walter is almost ready to go into beta.  With condensing the Slingshot and Ammo skills, and replacing the Woby badge system, there ended up being quite a lot of new things that couldn't be released in parts.  We're aiming to get his update out into beta either by the end of the week or on Monday.

Thank youIMG_4169.jpeg.4d5953a733e070e5dda3f01a122f54db.jpeg

same for badges, I think it could be made great but oh well.

I'm not as fond of the system where you have a limited amount of slots that you have to juggle around (not really strongly against it, either, just have no real attachment to it) so I'm hoping that that's more the part that got replaced and the training system is going to stay. We're in the short period where I can imagine that the update magically removes everything I dislike and keeps everything that I like, before I inevitably get disproven by reality.

Thanks for the update and continued support!

I see you guys saw the suggestion to add extra planar damage per hit with Abigail's vex, which I think is a great translation to how she works normally into the new planar meta.

Now, I was expecting to shave a bit of the damage from phyisical to compensate, though I wasn't expecting for all physical buffs to be completely removed, but you guys probably did the numbers and though this was the best way to go about it, so I respect it.

One thing that I'm a bit confused about is... what is the overall direction of the skill tree, as in, what is it trying to achieve.

I do kinda miss the explanations for the patch notes, is easier for us to give feedback when we can understand what you're trying to achieve with the tree's overall design. I know it does increase the workload, but giving players an insight of what the intentions are can help us into trying to give suggestion of how to achieve that, instead of throwing ideas to the wall and see what sticks. I hope the Wendy related posts won't be the last time this approach is taken.

My overall opinion of the skilltree is that is very high maintenance for okai~ish rewards.

I know comparisons are what got us here in the first place, but is something I can't help but do.

In the skilltree, Wolfgang gets +25 planar damage per hit, so +50 per hit with planar weapons just by selecting the skills.

Wendy after selecting the skills gets 25 planar from Abigail when you do kill mobs in your inventory + 20 (10 per hit) when you craft shadow elixir

As a Wendy main, I see other characters like Willow, Woodie, Winona, Wolfgang, Wortox... characters that just gets a bonus by selecting their skills, and I see Wendy where most skills that give any bonuses require upkeep, and I feel kinda jealous.

In a similar fashion, I see how Willow's half of her skilltree is Bernie, more than half of Woodie are his transformations, most of Wurts are merm related buffs, a large chunk of Walter tree are ammo and slingshot perks, and then I see Wendy where half the skilltree is to make farming her resource easier, and Abigail in a corner with Team Spirit, and I get very jealous.

All in all, I do appreciate all the work you've put into this update, and I hope future skilltrees are much more straighforward and less of a headache for you guys and for us the players. Thank you.

I stopped playing the game for a loong while because they took particularly longer this time to give any update. Can someone tell me why they didn't just rollback Wendy and release the rest of the beta updates and then work on her on the next one? What are we like 4 months behind schedule now? Not even accounting for the Switch delays.

Yeah, they mentioned that separating it would take up more time and result in further delays. They delayed further to avoid delaying other scheduled content.

They have separate teams that work on the characters, but I'm pretty sure they abandoned that pretty early and went all hands on Wendy.

Walter isn't even finished, that wouldn't have helped at all

Really feels like all the Wortox players just wasted time posting anything for the beta forums. What's the point of asking for feedback when it just goes ignored.

i HATE feeling wasted, i stoped counting how many times i have wasted time and effort for something just to get well, wasted feeling inside

I've worked in both gaming and tech. I'm used to it.

If Pure Brilliance Rounds affected ALL rounds and ALL ally weapon damage, and the number was increased to 10, I think they'd be held to a much higher regard than they currently are. They're just too limited, and I think people would see the team support they would provide with this change.

Also, I've reconsidered this suggestion if it's implemented as universally as done with Wendy. +5 is fine if it works the same way, but I was initially under the impression this implementation would only affect weapon damage, not secondary sources such as the Enlightened Crown or Thulecite Club.

See klei ? See the polish, animation and beauty you can achieve when you put more time in these updates, keep it up don't rush it with deadlines that will both get you stressed and give us unfinished, bugged content... Great job with this one so far

They literally added this because a lot of the Wendy players themselves were asking for it, yes Wendy can easily spam bug nets, yes imo this is kind of an useless perk, but thats one of the things many of yall were asking for. Have you seen the forum threads of the past couple weeks at all?

I have a few suggestions for this update:

Wendy:
have mourning glories take the place of loon blossoms for the ability that allows Abigail to take player damage instead of mob damage

allow Wendy to craft the knife shown in this picture: image.png.6f00ad4c22b2b30609c3d9b8b7cb5f79.png

and use it to sacrifice things to give Abigail health buffs possibly increasing Abigail‘s debuff to enemies similar to how shadow Abigail currently works

make it so putting dark petals/lune tree blossoms in a sisturn triggers Abigail‘s respective alignment forms

give abigail’s shadow form the ability to teleport like shadow creatures do

Applying Abigail‘s AOE to her guest stall attacks, as well as keeping her closer to Wendy

walter:

giving big woby the ability to swim like a varglet (you could also apply to small woby retrieving things that are in the water

woby should also get alignments. I’m thinking something similar to BERNIE! Or something something completely different for all I care just as long as it’s alignments for woby

wortox:

wortox can also collect so equivalents

wx-78 and clockworks: mechanical essence

stats: half everything across the board

Shadows:corrupted soul

stats:all the stats of a normal soul with a heavier sanity loss

Baby tentacle(unless it not dropping a soul is supposed to play. It’s not actually dead. Cause killing babies is kinda messed up.):premature soul.

Stats: basically the Morsel will equivalent to a soul person even greater sanity lost

when punching with his bare fist if every hit he does triggers a dice roll with a one percent chance of Insta killing

also, I would change the naughty inclination. Ability is the whole greed thing sounds good on paper but in practice it just gives you a little bit more of a chance to release souls when you’re overflowing before it causes damage which, if all it does is give more time to release them, then that kind of goes against the whole greed idea and seems more like something you would get with that a nice inclination like the souls are being more lenient on you because you’re nice and giving you a chance to release them on your own

I rebound inventory slot 1 to tab and it's crazy how much of a difference it makes commanding Abigail.

I really hope at some point all survivors with a unique perk gets a hotkey to open their menu, as there's enough now it's needed (Willow, Maxwell, Winona, Webber(?) and Wendy)

I usually use middle mouse button on the last item of inventory so you can keep something character unique there ex: willow ember for spells, maxwell book, winona remote, wendy flower, even wormwood armor for a quick swap from backpack to armor ( when you take the backpack back even the armor stays in the last slot)

So i dont really see the need for a hotkey when you can make it yourself!

Do you see any harm if some people can have the option to have fun with what they find more convenient? Does it affect your way of playing the game in any way?

It would be nice to understand that not everybody is the same and different people find different ways more suitable for them.

Well, since next update should be related to Wortox and Walter. I do hope for one change that would make the world for me...

I wish for Tail piece to be included in Head slot if you own specific pants. Similar to the way free Hallowed nights skins work. I loved Free Hallowed Nights skin for Maxwell, cus it changes whole skin while allowing you to equip stuff above it, meanwhile "Woven" skin only cowers the head, and if you want to equip anything else with it, it is being set on default color skin pallet instead.

However the difference Tail makes for wortox cosmetics is quite drastic.

Example Frost Wortox (with Full body outfit for ability to use deer tail):

Goblin Wortox:

Guess of Honor/ Shadow Wortox is probably the only ones I cant use as example due to them being quite dapper especially when combined together.

image.png.f8f6d3f62a8a9714221ccf9109d235ca.png

But still, you get the idea. Tail makes customizing specific Wortox Skins more fun and unique... Being locked to use full set body outfits to have non monkey tail is kinda disappointing.
