The DST development seems strange these years

Recommended Posts

For some reason, DST started becoming a terraria-like game to me once the rift content published. But after several years past, we could see there's still a huge distance between DST and Terraria. For DST, we are lack of bios and many other. I'm worrying that how long need DST to continue the recently update for catch up Terraria. And, is that a good idea to make DST become a copycat of Terraria-like model game? DST has its own advantage and potential. But it seems we were stucked in the mess of broken rift updates and the infinite chaos of skilltrees.

We have almost no impact update for the sea for a long time. No impact update for the cave as well. (The GDW is not an impact update and it is low quality and meaningless tbh) And for a long time our updates would always work like "Let us add a trouble as A in this update. Let us add a solution for A in next update." But the A is always no closely related to what already existed in the main game - which makes the game become more broken as pieces.

Pipspooks is one example that how a content could be individually to the whole DST gameplay. The mechanic of pipspooks is only served for Wendy, or, for the elixir. Yes we may have wraith wreath in future, but it's far not enough for making the pipspooks become a true "DST" thing. They would continuously being a mini-game individual from the DST gameplay for a long time as we could guess. The most worse thing is that we seems have many "pipspooks" for current stage in DST. Many of them are soo individually to make DST become more broken in pieces.

How could we go and where we would go in future?

For so far what we have gotten from the updates I think we got pretty decent content all together. It's normal this content all is weird, but it's progression for newbies, additions for all and foes for the veterans.

Content we're getting is partially very experimental and the core crafting materials for new gear to use. We're at the game's lategame where anything is possible and Klei's working on what we might face in the future.

For me, the future is seems like "adding a trouble A to players. Pray for the solution A, but it may won't come" and "skill tree until 2027". It's boring and broken ngl.

As I said we're just that far into the game's development now
