To make souls from Wortox healing Abi with player tag please.

Recommended Posts

Souls from Wortox should healing "player" in game. To adjust it to be available for Abi when her player tag has been applied is logical. This would be a good flavour detail.

And balance issues always been same when multiplayers here with Wortox healing. This won't do impact to what we current have.

Maybe allow Wortox with soul bastion 2 to heal all player allies.

I would agree with any buff for a supporting build character since they would be always unpopular in multiplayer game. But I personally worried that it's debatable if the soul could heal non-player mobs or not in flavour aspect.

Seems like this could be incredibly strong and outright op BUT the idea is still good. I suggest that if this was implemented the drawbacks should be: 1. Abby being counted as an actual player meaning that she adds to the division per 1 soul of healing amongst other players. 2. All healing to players allies should be decreased depending on the ally (Could you imagine a Shadow Saddled Beefalo with unlimited healing?)3. Maybe in place of number 2. The health given to Allies from Wortox could only be received in healing over time.

I disagree with this since Healing from Wortox was already OP enough for multiplayer... The change won't does more impact to it so I personally think it's not enough to say "over"power.

Agreed! My original intention is just to change the souls from Wortox to treat Abi with player tag as same as a player.

I personally think this is an issue regarding with beefalo but not only the soul healing of Wortox... And off topic with Abi.

Not just regarding Beefalo but if all Allies get healed, by what amounts definitely matter. Abi would just be one of the many Allies able to be obtained in the game.

Ah.. I got your point. Yes it definitely would be a problem if the army of Webber or Wurt is nearby if the healing works for non player mobs as well...

I think allowing his souls to heal abigial when she has the player tag would be a neat interaction.

That being said I don't think his healing has balance issues as much like most healing items it's a limited resource unless he's performing well enough to maintain it or over prepped which can also be done with other food items

Yes I knew there's another view aspects like what you said. I'm just have a bit PTSD of "OP" criticism which makes me have to clarify the things from similar aspects of those criticism.

And I personally think the OP problem is lies behind the multiplayer itself but not behind any particular characters or items if we must talk about the balance issues for multiplayer world...

Doesn’t giving Abigail the “Player” Tag also mean that bosses that originally ignored Abigail’s existence now also target and count Abigail as being a “player”??

to explain this better: If you play as Willow and you try to use BERNIE to fight Klaus or Antlion, using Bernie for these two fights actually makes the fights more difficult, because there will be “Additional” boss AoE spam (hot and cold craters for Klaus, Sand Spikes for Antlion) Targeting BERNIE!

Abigail however, was not counted as a “Player” and therefore, was not targeted by these two bosses… does applying “Player Tag” now make using her suffer the same negative and unhelpful traits as BERNIE!?

This might be the first time I would totally agree with your opinions. It's logical and fairness enough for me.

A potential explanation for your argument is - the "player tag" of Abi is not meant to make Abi become a true player. And the hidden line between true player and player tag would be an operational spare for potential changes in future. The question of what would happened and what should not would only decided by Klei. We were just give potential suggestions to them.

However, If I recall correctly, Antlion would only lock one players during the fight.

Does the Klaus’s elemental attack not already target Abigail? If you or Abigail move out of range you won’t be targeted, but I pretty regularly get two hot or cold “craters” while fighting Klaus solo as Wendy + Abigail.

I have no idea if Antlion tries to target Abigail. I try to stay close to Abigail just in case, since that should make all the spikes spawn in the same area. But I have seen videos of Abigail soloing Antlion in which it seems like Antlion tries to target her, though that may be because there is nothing else to target.

I'm thinking this would be fair but personally I wouldn't use my souls to heal an Abigail and sometimes I would consider it detrimental as Abigail herself has a natural health regen of 480 per day, I would just hoard my souls in jars and ask Wendy to use potions

Wouldn't you be healing other players and yourself anyways?

yes but I'm greedy and Abigail would be sucking effectiveness from each soul, we could probably have seen more wortox nice skills relating to followers, in a reality where every character had the same attention

I honestly don't remember at all if soul healing gets weaker with more players, but if it does healing an Abby would probably be not that good

I still haven't endangered myself due to running out of Souls a single time in this beta. Not even once have I ran out of Souls, and I'm not even particularly diligent about conserving my supply.

It is not a limited resource anymore. It's too large of a number that we manage now; there's just no excuse to ever hit 0 at this point. Maybe in a different timeline.

That being said, I would like to be able to heal allied mobs with Soul Bastion II, if it's not being reworked (and I'd prefer a rework.) Not just Abigail. Would be nice for niche team synergy. Just not Maxwell's summons, please. Maybe it should require that the target has a Soul. I don't think it would fix Soul Bastion as a skill branch, though, to add this bonus to it. It seems kinda apparent it was simply designed before the rest of the skill tree, which is why it doesn't really do anything despite the high Insight cost. But at least this would be unique enough to be worth screwing around with a bit on multiplayer, for fun, in some specific use cases. That's better than never having a reason to touch this branch at all, despite a suboptimal result.

Players healed. If 2 players are in range, but 1 is fully healed, it'll heal the other for 20 HP. The penalty isn't really a problem to begin with, though, unless you're in gameplay-invalidating group sizes anyways. I don't think the penalty would even be an issue with a Webber or Wurt friend, if allowed to heal them too, because it just doesn't really matter in any practical scenario.

Also... Wendy is like... the best partner of all time for Wortox collecting souls. She can collect hundreds of souls incredibly quickly by killing bees.

Giving Wendy incentive to do so just makes sense.

I personally hope that Wortox can't absorb Abigail's soul when she dies. When playing multiplayer, I often run into Wortox treating Abby as a free, unlimited source of souls, which is annoying

I have to say if this is true this should be fix since this is extremely weird...... @Jason

Abby should not drop souls when she have no player tag right? And when abby died the player tag effect just inactivated so she won't drop souls for Wortox right..?

From the perspective of game content, such things do indeed exist.

But from a personal emotional perspective, this is distressing.
