Spirit Vessel, cute idea but weird execution

Recommended Posts

So, as of the latest patch, Wendy is unable to dig up graves to obtain dug-up versions of headstones to relocate, meaning these items/sprites are no longer a thing.

In the new update, the way to relocate graves is to craft a "Spirit Vessel".
This costs 1 ash, and 1 shell piece and is consumed on use. You drag and drop it to 'collect' the headstone.
I get the idea here but the gameplay feels more like there was a roadblock added artificially to the skill.
Instead of being able to use a shovel to dig up the graves and obtain a pretty cool looking décor piece, you now have to use a consumable.

I get the idea here but I feel like the idea of spirit relocating could be done a bit better?
Personally I'm sad to lose out on the dug-up sprites and being able to use a shovel. I do love the idea of giving the ghosts a new home though. I feel like most of the changes could be reverted, but the vessel itself could simply be dropped when the grave is dug up, or something similar.

Or, alternatively, the vessel could be detached from the grave itself. When I first tried this in-game, I spent an entire day waiting for the ghost to jump into the jar, not knowing it was a drag-and-use item.
I think being able to manually use the jars to relocate ghosts could open some doors! It could let players have purely decorative graves and functional graves, since Wendy can craft her own tombstones, I think being able to take ghosts and move and/or remove them would be a wonderful change, whilst still being respectful to the idea in the first place.

If something like this were to be done, I figure the jar could go from an item you fill/empty instead of being removed on use! Thoughts? General or similar ideas you might've had?

It also seems a bit unfortunate that the spirit vessels now require a broken shell to make, meaning that Wendy players are probably going to have to trek out to Pearl's island in each new world to make them, as opposed to before where the only thing that was needed was a shovel.

Also, it keeps coming up that apparently it's not taboo to dig a grave up and move it outside of China and ? Folks, is this real? Have I been misunderstanding my own culture (US American)? When it was the Chinese players saying that it was because of cultural differences I could brush that off as them not knowing about cultures outside of their country, but I've been seeing it from non-Chinese players now too (not just Reiko) and I feel like I'm going insane.

It is taboo, but it’s just a game. No one has strong feelings towards a game when you fe. Kill

killing is taboo too isn’t it? But there are first person shooters, GTA, etc.

Gotcha. I think I misunderstood what you were saying, I agree with your stance on videogames.

添加这个只是为了满足文化差异,这样迁坟就不会显得“不尊重”

Speaking of cultural differences, I don't know if the designer has watched this old movie

But  I will place many jars under the Knobbly Tree in the game later hahaha

You can destroy snurtle mounds.

Honestly kinda fair considering bigspooks are pretty good.
