One Warly Skill Tree Idea: a Dining Table

Recommended Posts

I had an idea for an aspect of Warly's skill tree to involve some new structures. I don't have the energy to write out a whole skill tree, so ill just focus on this one thing.

  • Fine dining
"Learn how to make a proper table and silverware to get the most out of prepared dishes."

you would be able to place crock pot dishes on the table and eat them for 33% more health, hunger, and sanity. This is just like how Warly acts in Shipwrecked, but anyone can use it. Its sorta like how the current winters feast table works, but less festive.

Or maybe it works by you sitting at the table, then eat whatever in your inventory? IDK that seems like it would get annoying.

That's all there is to it really, just a structure to get some more value out of existing food without making them stronger in a combat scenario, Though nothing is stopping you from just putting a table down next to a boss fight. I just feel like Warly would try to make an actual dining table so people don't have to eat with just their hands while standing up.

Other potential structures include: bigger fridge, shipwreck ice maker, and a drying rack that can hold multiple meats. though that last one isn't too useful for a Warly since they can't eat jerky. Maybe a cutting board to cut full meats into morsels? I'm really just spitballing, share your own thoughts below.

An ice-maker is a great idea, actually.

i think a good experience of fine dining in constant would make people who eat gain sanity overtime because how good his dishes are XD
maybe like good sanity regen for whole day.

i would prefer if its warly exlusive to set up the dining table, but everyone can eat from the feast table

These are good ideas, but should be less structure-based, as that would force them to stay at base or make you need to sacrifice a ton of inventory slots. I.e instead of the table, its eating right from the crock pot. A bigger fridge would add more character-swappiness, i'd rather they make the chef pouch useful (magicians hat but salt box spoilage reduction, stores all food spices and cookware). Ice Maker seems really cool, maybe it'd need you to fill it with water i.e watering can or rain? Instead of a cutting board i'd want them to just let him do it with any sharp tool, like an axe or spear or dark sword. (Imagine bringing in an otherworldly brightshade sword just to cut your steak, lol)

I wouldn't mind an ice maker considering we got many sources of ice in the world, but having a kitchen ice maker is nice.

That could work too, though it wouldn't make much sense logically. Putting a plate on a table isn't exactly a complicated process. Maybe it needs some kind of fancy prep?

That could be an additional effect, minor but still nice.

A "spice rack" item would be pretty useful for carrying your spices on the go while only using one space instead of four. an improved chef pouch would also be pretty good for his other skills.

Ooo, I like that, much more elegant than a structure.

It just makes sense for him to make it, plus some recipes require ice. On that same vein, he should definitely have a skill to milk the volt goats, and maybe some way to make butter with that milk. If he could more easily generate valuable resources like that then I think it would help tone down his swappability, slightly anyway.

The chef pouch having dedicated spice slots would be better than having one dedicated item for chef equipment, another for ingredients, one for meals, etc.
Let the chef pouch be the ultimate storage of everything food.
