Abigail player tag needs to stay (for all the people who think its too op)

The OP brought up deerclops. That's the boss we're talking about. He said he can't beat Deerclops with Abigail.

Fighting Fuelweaver with a fishing rod is also optional.

"He said he can't beat Deerclops with Abigail." Yes, if they delete the player tag for Abi, I won’t be able to do it with her.

"Fighting Fuelweaver with a fishing rod is also optional." You’re right, do it if you want but it should be the same with this skill.

Hi, I completely share your perspective. I'm not a veteran who can rush every boss by day 30 either. For me, DST is more of a way to relax and unwind—a break from real life—and I love enjoying the game at a casual pace with my friends. We really appreciate the process of gathering resources and preparing for fights, but it feels disheartening when we can't keep Abigail alive during those moments.

I've shared my thoughts in more detail in my own post. Feel free to check it out if you're interested!

Some charaters got more variable, interesting and useful options

Some characters have to pick this less effective, tiring way because there is no option.

the main idea here is that 0.5x dmg reduction should not come free, atlease shadow abi should not get it consider shes a glass cannon, tying the player tag to lunar abi not only make sense lore wise, but also make sense as lunar is designed to handle boss better

Most Wendy mains are not noobs.

they just clearly know what Wendy is lack of.

They could still overcome these problems by practicing and learning.

the real problem is some of them is worrying about Wendy's future

some of them is myopia and already satisfied while there is being more and more knockbacks and aoe

Yea, I don’t have statistics, so you’re right. But I still think that most noobs choose Wendy as their main
Even if experienced players pick Wendy, that doesn’t change the fact that she’s often the go-to character for beginners because of her simpler mechanics and Abigail’s support

acceptable for me. Maybe the dark petals can boost Shadow abi's dmg.

As explained, you can beat Deerclops with Abigail. No skill required. If you can't do it after it was explained, then you're choosing not to.

Hey, I actually wrote this post because I was inspired by your post. I think the reason there’s so much hate on this forum is that casual players don’t even know about it. I only found out about it because I needed to give my feedback on Wendy’s skill tree. I really wish more of noobs players found it

The solution is so simple, just make it tied to lunar abi , done

casual player get their 0.5x protection abi

and more veteran player can use shadow abi for maximum dmg while need to be more carefull of abi health

Wow, thank you so much! That really means a lot to me.

I've become more active on the forum recently because of Wendy's beta skill tree updates. While I wouldn't say I'm entirely new—I've spent over a decade with the game in real life and thousands of hours in-game—I still play in a casual, care-free style. That's probably why I've been on this forum since 2021 but mostly just lurking until now.

My friends and I tend to play in long-running worlds that last for thousands of in-game days, and we don't rush bosses. However, even with all that time and experience, there are still some bosses we find really challenging—or ones we can barely defeat.

It's encouraging to see more posts like yours that reflect the voices of players like us. Thank you again for your kind words!

no, general abi does matter.

A fair balance method is

1. to make Gestalt Abi become invincible again like what she did before the nerf, but she would do no damage if Wendy stop attack her target.

2. keep player tag to every form of Abi like what we have now.

3. make Shadow Abi takes extra 3x damage as a cost for her Wolfgang-like DPS. It means 1.5x extra dmg taken when player-tag actived. This keeps the "high risk high rewards" playstyle for veterans.

Yea, how about someone with 1000 hour in the game just have opinions on how dogs are too weak and buff them drastically?

i can agree with that we shouldn't have equal voice but only with advanced things. we are  talking about one character with optional skill, not mechanics who change game for everyone

there are multiple ones where i said what direction i think is healthier design for her. but no one has brought it up

Nobody force you to choose it lol

I’ve noticed some people want to take this away, so I decided to share my thoughts on the matter too. Most dst players aren’t sweaty veterans with 3,000 hours in the game, rushing every boss by day 30. In fact, the majority just want to relax whether with friends or solo and have some fun. I think Klei should focus on supporting those players as well.

Turn on relaxed mode.

By the way, you can kite it with skill tree. You just send Abigail through Deerclops in opposite direction, he reaggroes on her as she is the last one who hits the boss, but he misses because Abi can go further/go at angle. With vigor mortis she even returns in no time to smack Deerclops together with you again. I suppose you could also send her away a bit earlier and position her closer to Deerclops so she comes sooner to buff your hits in the next cycle, and hit boss yourself before Deerclops attack so it reaggroes onto you. I can see how escape command could also work, I just need to test those 2 extra ways to kite with Abigail in game.

I don't know if it would be a few secons faster or slower than Wilson, but is that really important? So long as fight occurs in reasonable time and doesn't need resource grind while offering unique experience, it should be fine.

Some time has passed, but I needed to get some sleep. I'm back now, but earlier I saw that you wrote something about me changing sides. I think it might be a misunderstanding, so maybe you could list in " " the things I changed my mind about regarding fighting Deerclops with Abi. I couldn't find this reply, so I'm not 100% sure if it was you.

yea but im saying that design decision will make wendy uninteresting

You don't like it when no one makes you use it, and the number of people who want Abigail to have a label is definitely greater than the number of you who want Wendy to suffer more

I think the invincibility from the escape command would probably work, considering it works for crystal deerclops
