HowlVoid
YEAR OF THE SALADMANDER Ok hear me out, they're not snakes I don't care. Moving on Year of the dragonfly was dog water sorry klei it's true gotta be honest with you. You can make it up to us with YEAR of the saladmander NOT to mention we will need a "chaser" for recent, uh, forum turmoil. COCKFIGHTING I imagine those crazy custom robot fighting rings but saladmanders, something they do naturally in the wild (they're territorial). First one knocked out loses, or whichever faints, idk. So you and your homies trick out the baddest saladmander on the block, call him "lil Rex". You put a ball of spikes on their tail, crazy. You put little gloves on their hads with CLAWS even crazier. You give them a little helmet with a Mohawk of SPIKES, YOOOOOO? Sorry had this idea on my head and didn't sleep all night. Blame the coffee. Ok but They're green and have scales (maybe), you can't deny science Plus there's no such thing as year of the salamander, you wanna tell little Timmy the saladmander on his birthday there's no cake? Plus, last time I checked dragonfly isnt a boat either. Call it the snake pit arena. 16 minutes ago, Jakepeng99 said: They are not snakes. It might use the great depth worm. Mike23Ua
The Snake Otter and Shadow Rictus are Snake mobs in the game now.. pretty sure those two weren’t added to NOT be part of Year of the Snake. DegenerateFurry
Alternative idea: Year of the Rictus, and we get to tame up to three mini-Rictuses by feeding them Pure Horror. They'll help you fight insanity monsters (nothing else though) as long as you keep them fed, but they'll turn on you if you let their hunger get too low (and they only eat nightmare fuel/Pure Horror). You calling a literal mammal a snake is no closer than me calling an amphibian like a salamander a snake. Shadow rictus is the closest thing to a snake but that will devolve closer to year of the varg with an enemy mob. A neutral mob at least gives them more to work with 11 minutes ago, DegenerateFurry said: Alternative idea: Year of the Rictus, and we get to tame up to three mini-Rictuses by feeding them Pure Horror. Rictus is the closest thing but adding a "friendly" function to a hostile mob is kinda goofy to me when said hostile mob is trying to kill you later. Plus that sounds late game. Think of the little saladmanders with cute hats though.. Plus that sounds late game. Think of the little saladmanders with cute hats though.. Year of the Varg added a whistle that lets you temporarily befriend hounds, and there's items that let you have friendly versions of hostile mobs (the Lavae Tooth and the Friendly Fruit Fly Fruit respectively). It's been done before. As for it being late-game, it could be if they spawned like normal ones. If not, though, they could just throw 'em on the Nightmare Werepig (they're trying to eat his power like the parasitic shadelings) and have defeating him make them drop off as he loses the nightmare power and becomes the Scrappy Werepig. Then they start hunting you like normal Rictuses (just doing less damage) unless you drop an item (crafted with one Pure Horror at the event's shrine structure), and they reveal themselves to eat the item (since they're not matured Rictuses), then start following you around passively, at which point you can feed them nightmare fuel or Pure Horror. That'd also allow more than one player to take part in the event by having players re-battle the Nightmare Werepig - they follow whoever did the final blow unless you already have three mini-Rictuses. HowlVoid
I take back what I said about shadow rictus. They could do something focused on spelunking though I've heard they try accommodate players with caves disabled. 9 minutes ago, DegenerateFurry said: Year of the Varg added a whistle that lets you temporarily befriend hounds, and there's items that let you have friendly versions of hostile mobs (the Lavae Tooth and the Friendly Fruit Fly Fruit respectively). All of "the years of"have been fairly isolated so im not sure about all that interaction with a boss. Its proven by year of dragonfly they don't want players interacting with overworld bosses for some reason. Also in comparison to vargs which players are forced to interact with not many people have seen post rift stuff as mentioned by a developer in the beta not long ago. I think the rictus could work with some imagination but it definitely has more hurdles than saladmanders. They could also add another evolution to saladmanders akin to "ripening" that evolves them to a serplent/serplant or something (serpent+plant) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/162309-year-of-the-snake-klei/#findComment-1774739 Share on other sites

Frosty_Mentos
Sorry but Charlie doesn't have enough funds in her shadow wallet to afford snakes.
