Conveyor Meter Content Temperature Exchange Bug?

Recommended Posts

This is technically not a bug, I guess, but feature wise is a bug, I think.

So what happened was I used Conveyor Meter to divide Iron (from volcano) into 2kg package so they can be cooled faster. I pretty much used it as a Conveyor Vault because such a thing doesn't yet exist in game.

But coincidentally, there was a 3825 mg Iron of 1386 *C (leftover Iron) which didn't interact with environmental temperature (because 3825 mg is too small and halts temp exchange), and jammed the volocano operation for who knows how long.

Do you think this is a bug?

If not, how do you set up automation to bypass such a jam without my manual intervention?

probably delayed Xor Gate to by pass jam as a passable solution.

Not a bug. Needing to "flush" mechanisms were you go close to the limits of the engine is intended (or rather "accepted") behaviour. Nothing is perfect, accept it.

The way here is to either override the thermal sensor (that must be in there) for, say, 1% of a cycle every cycle, or to detect when there has been no progress for a specific implausibly long time and then do the same.

The practical way to avoid the problem entirely is having an element sensor on the rail before the meter valve. Only allow the meter valve to reset if there's the deisred element on the rail (because you mysteriously still can only set it to detect a single element, and not the inverse).

That way there cannot be microscopic amounts created by accident.
