Is the upper limit of Abi's HP fake? Just a shield? The game hung up for 10 minutes and then was hit by the boss three times and it was gone???

It should be changed to be able to use a large blood bottle to restore the shield.

The HP is designed differently to regular HP, I don't think this is a bug, as its described as temporary. There's a concept in games called "overheal," where some sources of healing can heal a player over their normal max hp, which when is lost, cannot be restored via typical healing methods.  Think Armour in overwatch. Once its lost it can't be restored except through reapplying, and heal through more traditional means, They don't get the additional overheal back. 

From the description in the latest Wendy Post, compared to regular followers which is "bulk by numbers" and Bernie, which is "bulk by HP," Abigail is intended to Kite using the team spirit commands and gesalt form, like a regular player. As such, buffing her HP to let her facetank better doesn't fit the devs vision for the character. 

The Overheal is designed to allow Abigail to take a few more hits when facing a boss, not as in "Abigail can tank more damage" but "Abigail can survive a few more mistakes from the player." In that context, the HP not being recoverable makes more sense.

It gives her a lot more tankiness, which is a very good perk.

abigail enables wendy to far outdamage maxwell, i'm not saying that she (and wendy as a whole) is in any capacity better but comparing her is rather pointless when she is a very unique follower
i believe that considering the damage she can enable it's fair for her to be a more fragile follower, that's what i like most about wendy which is managing abigail
the new commands for controlling abigail and the ghastly elixir it's far easier to utilize her so i dont see the issue of the overheal decay
making abigail too forgiving with these buffs the skilltree have given her makes wendy rather boring, no?

Maxwell's shadows are probably the most broken summons in DST, so... Not really comparable.

They are the one who need nerfs, not abi (which is still very good and dosn't need any more buff)

And those puppets DIE after 5 hits as you say, abi has still 600 hp, and you got potions for her...

Maxwell needs nerfs, and abigail doesn't need any buff.

Abigail got AOE damage, and is one of the few summons which have a constant damage output, the others attack very slowly, she can deal 40 damage AOE every single second, which is a lot.

Abigail has potions which buff her and you do not need anything to sustain her, Maxwell at least requires a bit of nightmare fuel and sanity, wurt requires a ton of time to set up and befriend merms, webber's spiders melt against AOE.

I really don't think it's a fair comparison. Abi is a one type minion, and a good one at that, excels at whatever army of spiders and pigs do by a mile. Sure, she's not as amazing as Wurt, but Wurt can also have an infinite amount of minions and buff em up but costs time and effort to do so, Maxwell can have 6 and become more powerful by shadow gear. Abi gets all of this day 1, and even better with elixirs throughout the the game, which are really cheap with very little time and effort. Elixirs are dirt cheap, whereas Maxwell requires late-game magic crafts for his absolute peak perfomance (only comparing his summons) and Wurt requires to build a city of merms. Elixirs beat both of these out of the water in terms of cost effectiveness

If you're asking can abi outperform merms? of course not, not when Wurt can have as many as she wants, That's also way above what's overkill compared to Abigail and Wendy alone.
