Sasuga
I would like to see Bronze as an option to replenish and even extend raw metal reserves. We could use aluminum and copper to make aluminum bronze. Or maybe add tin and/or arsenic, and then we could use more combinations create bronze in a similar way to steel. The properties wouldn't be as strong as steel, being bronze, but it could basically turn copper and aluminum back into something akin to metal ore so it can be used as both a refined metal and metal ore the way steel is. speckle21
This might be better for the suggestions forum, rather than general. Anyway, whats the advantage of using bronze? I'm having trouble seeing the point of a few of the existing metals like cobalt. Some metals like gold have special uses in the game, gold is used to make bleach stone and oxylite. Aluminum has exceptional thermal transfer properties. Iron is the precursor to steel which confers a nice temperature limit boost. I can't see a difference between copper and cobalt in terms of game play. And now you want to propose bronze? What would bronze do that would add to game play? It is also more disposable than iron because you need iron to make steel and it's easier to make in the early game with a metal refinery. Cobalt has very good thermal conductivity, higher than anything but thermium and aluminum. Cobalt has a higher melting point than aluminum or copper, making it a safer alternative in high temperature environments like a sour gas boiler. It could be nice to have an intermediate material that can't take as much heat but can still be used under a steam turbine but not as well. Not all maps have iron or gold amalgam. Plus, if it could be used as a metal ore, it would provide another path to solving the limited metal ore problems. But I think that could also be solved by allowing the building of normal metal buildings with refined metal. speckle21
Okay i see where you're coming from, What you really want is a manufacturable metal ore replacement thats less costly than steel. And is available when you don't have iron sources for steel. I can get onboard with that. Although i feel i almost never run into steel sourcing problems. So i'm not sure how useful bronze would be.
