I thought I had a mod on or something that was doing that!

Yeah, that's a annoying. Better if you had to right click to do it.

There’s only three things that I really wanted on Wortox’s skill tree and two of them would require Beefalo.

1- Knabsack being a storage container that like in his animated shorts can be used to snag things inside, plus it’s also a weapon that deals more damage depending on how much random stuff you’ve snatched up inside.

2- Soul Hop Ability while mounted on a Beefalo.

3- Why does WIGFRID have the Beefalo Revival skill? Shouldn’t this be on the Devilish Imp, let me revive my Beefalo (if only once) for free. It’ll be like spawning into the game with a one time free use Glom Bell.

And before you cry that’s way too op. dude literally spawns into the game with a built in telocater staff & Willow takes about 2 minutes and she’s got her own early game Dwarf Star.

Walter spawns with his own Chester/Beefalo.

Im pretty sure “Balance” is out of the equation.

You keep spreading that thing about Wigfrid being able to revive beefalo. Are you sure that is real?

Couldn't find anything about Wigfrid having a skill that lets her revive Beefalo, but I just wanted to add onto this that dropped soul healing should apply to the Beefalo as well.

So I've done about a dozen new worlds with Wortox so far for testing or for boss rushing and I gotta say that I really like his new skill tree. I ONLY play support when I'm Wortox but this definitely changes things. I enjoy his character progression so much because he still feels a little weak at the beginning. I try to get 3 soul jars by day 3-5, then ruins rush and uncover most the maps. Try to kill AFW by late winter or early spring so I can unlock his void cowl + reaper. By the time you get those I tend to reduce my jars to 1-2 (Though I still like the 25-30 extra soul space). I don't know if you guys have tried his shadow reaper + double echo versus raid bosses but wow is all I can say. I hope they don't change anything on that end.

Bug nets are a weapon too. I've accidentally attacked butterflies instead of catching them, haha.

The blast resistance fixed it against bosses. It would still be a fun toy to have, though.

You're totally right. I forgot how nets work. Maybe moving around farms with the teleport was too broken? Kind of feels like it should be something he's good at though. It would be fun too.

That or some kind of storage, or lose the durability and have it deal damage based on how many souls you put in it, with the visual for how charged it is maybe

I only liked the improvement of soul hoping throughout the map and the double echo.

The nice/naughty "balance" thing is very cool, but the perks are pretty underwhelming.

If Klei listens to the community there is a good chance that the nice balance perk will include Wortox not to be targeted by  Pigs and Bunnyman. However, I can already see an issue there because most of the nice section is filled with unappealing skills (the only good ones are the soul hop improvement).

The other nice section of talents have almost no useful implications:

The whole more healing from souls column is not desirable since he already heals for a good amount of hp

The improved revive heart thing is kinda nice, but it is a multiplayer feature (a lot of people like to play the game solo)

Now... looking to the naughty side:

The knabsack has a TERRIBLE mechanic/execution:

- It "forces" you to have your slots full which is a nuisance, for the benefit of a Dark Sword damage.

- The "steal items on the floor" action is tied with the spacebar action, where sometimes when you just want to pick stuff on the floor by pressing spacebar, you waste the knabsack because u forgot not to press the spacebar to pick a single item on the floor.

The soul jar stacking thing is also a very unattractive idea. It gets worse since we have to stack soul jars AND items to improve the knabsack damage

So, I think there are still a lot of things to rework in his ST.

i mean you don't need to stack items tho, you only need to put items in your inventory, the souls yeah you need to stack it, but you don't need to stack items. besides if you have spare item slots that the game forces you to have other items i think that the downside of the knabsack isn't so bad in the first place

I am still sucking at getting those bottles, even with a mod to show them offscreen better. Just had a day 10 world where I got two. I spent a couple days underground getting a starcaller, though.

The thing is... the mechanic of putting 1 item in every slot is really, really bad and unenjoyable.

I didn't really think of that before. My bags not full enough, lemme split my spider webs up so it weighs more. Tbh though, if any survivor gets a pass on cartoon logic, it's wortox.

I've seen you post this over 10 times in other posts and I ask what would the utility be for Kidnapping Pigs or Baby Beefalos or Plantable flowers? Pigs are hostile towards you if you took them out your inv I'd assume it'll just be hostile meaning you have to kill it or leave it. But you can just make a pig house if you wanted to move it for some reason, same thing with Beefalos. Make a bell, link it and take the beefalo to anywhere on the map and leave it, few seasons pass and you have a heard wherever. You want Plantable flowers? Just go catch butterflies and place them. I'm confused on what kidnapping small mobs do that you can't already. If you want them to be put in your inventory to kill them then that's just extra steps to get a soul.

basically it is a utility that means not having to make several other items to do these things while also serving his lore and being much faster/safer than the other ways

I hate that his affinity is locked behind a specific weapon that he doesn't have any added utility with like less durability drain or cheaper costs. I think it should work with his Knabsack

I see, it's not a terrible idea I guess I think an increase of Krampus Sack drop percentage and Krampus that spawn from naughtiness would be nice too.

That's not a thing anymore with the last update. While you do need stuff in your inventory the soul jars and held souls bridge the gap for the damage. Basically you don't need to have a full inv in every slot for full damage.

Watch this video for a better visual example.

which a couple of us have advocated for! it would be great if snatching a creature had the same naughtiness level as killing it; you get that naughty-boost without having to murder off half the constant to get that sweet sweet sack X''D

I used to be a wormwood main so I feel the pain. Maybe I just got lucky in my runs but I've been getting all 3 by day 6. But keep in mind I literally TP the edges of the entire map and try to kill as many otters as I can. So I usually find a bottle or two near the coast and maybe 1 or 2 from otters. They definitely should update bottle mechanics in general just because more and more characters and things require them at this point. They increase the drop rate of bottles from 5% to 10% from otters to make it more manageable. Someone start a new thread on this!

Will try to be more strict on this next run. There's downsides to this, like its going to make getting a beefalo early not feasible if you're also going for the ruins/day 11 moonstone altar.

I'd be happy if I could do this and get the before day 7 pearl umbrella done, though. I think I could start taming a beef on day 12 and get it tamed before spring?

Ah yeah, early beefalo imo wouldn't be good with this strategy. Taming a beef on day 12 is tough but doable. I used to be a Wendy main and I always tame a beef with her and anything after day 6 feels late to me.

Just curious what path you'd be following doing an early moonstone event.

Pearl, Crab King ASAP. Early Celestial, so that Lunar Mutated Deerclops can spawn in first Winter.

I think the Knabsack is in a much better place but I for the life of me don't understand them taking the planar aspect away.

planar aspect didnt rlly make too much sense, and the new alignment skills are a much better fit imo

I haven't been that invested in Wortox skill tree bc as long as his soul capacity increased I'd be happy, and Wendy's skill tree needs all the help it can get.

Hope people push for it to be the best it can be when I get round to playing it in full release though.
