psylis
So recently in the official klei servers, I've seen multibox bot accounts come in random games, grief bases, and vote kick. Is there anything that can be done with this? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/160963-votekickersbots/ Share on other sites
DegenerateFurry
I saw this a while ago too. I guess they've realized Valve's keeping them out of TF2, so they've come to DST to ruin it instead. psylis
Same guy...just tearing up bases, and coming on with bots so you can't out kick him. Gashzer
Instead of moderation, klei needs to remove voting from klei official servers all together. Bots or dedicated griefer groups can use this to grief. Then we the players just have to accept you can't treat klei official servers like your private world where you expect everyone to play nicey nice and we need to adapt our playstyle to match the chaotic nature of klei pubs. Cheggf
There's realistically nothing you can do about this. The votes don't care about who's who, so whoever has numbers wins. The only way to prevent him from having numbers is if you have numbers, either by botting yourself (don't do this) or by playing with a group of people. This is way worse, griefers are 10,000x more common than bots. If you remove vote kicking you are essentially doing nothing except making it so that everyone who joins has the same powers as those who buy the game repeatedly, and you can't even stop them by having the server full enough to prevent the bots from joining. If every resource was made renewable, mandrake regenerating in forest, pig houses around pig king and bunnymen in caves so what that a griefer destroys things? I really think the problem isn't the griefers but people who treat klei servers as a place to megabase like a private world. A griefer can't stop you ruin rushing, a griefer can't stop you rushing bosses. You can carry quite alot on you using a piggyback and even more structures can be saved in crafting tab. Funny enough Wilson is a really good character to be in klei pubs because you can craft your own iridescent gems if you are worried about people stealing them. A few general QoL updates like altar pieces and terraria showing up on map like the orb does would prevent people hiding them. Increase the drop rate of mini chess pieces from tumbleweed so you can make your own shadow chess piece bosses. These are more realistic and easier to do QoL updates klei can do that helps everyone out in every server. Once they have made everything renewable then remove voting. We can change our playstyles after that to a more nomadic one by not relying on bases which makes you griefer proof. psylis
I think Woodie's wearbeaver skill should grant him 100% (minus gems of course) of the materials destroyed. Yes it makes it a free deconstruction staff, however it is a high enough skill that would warrant such an ability. @Gashzer: The first base he destroyed was pretty glamorous. Thulucite and moon rock walls. It got destroyed before I could take a screenshot of it. The next world I had a couple of crocks, and tier two magic. I don't think the person is seeking/destroying based on the size of the base, but the fact that he/she can outnumber whoever is in the server, destroy anything and stay safe from vote kicks. Queron81
Klei should give the administration of their official servers to the steam group "Don't Starve Together (DST)", as they have a good blacklist and are reacting fast to griefer reports. Or they should at least use their blacklist. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/160963-votekickersbots/#findComment-1760550 Share on other sites
