Ardcrumb
Look at the newest beta, other characters get game defining skills that are fun and engaging as well as unqiue to play. Wilson gets torch tree. Ffs klei why won't you accept that you f-cked up? Wormboi
I get your point but a lot people are saying that Wortox's skill tree is terrible too. hyoton123
Oh hell no. There has been endless complaining about wendy and wortox’s skill trees, we are not now saying “look at all the fun skills everyone else got.” Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/160920-wilsons-skill-tree-is-even-worse-in-retrospect/#findComment-1758941 Share on other sites
mkemal23
Yeah, Wilson and Wolfgang's skill trees definitely need some rework, as they feel extremely bland. Sure, balancing feels off this update but still, you can see how much love klei's been putting to newer skilltrees. Meanwhile Wilson and Wolfgang (and most likely Wes)'s trees are dumped aside because thats how they are "supposed to be". I highly doubt that klei's character balancing will get better(Just look at this update), But at this point it's worth a shot to give them another look. Mr.Oshiro
Unfortunately, KLEI once said that Wilson's skill tree would not be changed again. The reason why his skill tree is like this is to guide new players to understand famine. LOL, is this positioning intended for Wilson to be abandoned after being used for a short period of time? And even if it really goes according to their expectations, I don't know if they have considered that Wilson is so boring when other characters have very powerful and interesting skill trees (compared to Wilson), how many new players will use him? Mourning for Wilson. Wilson-brb
Wilson rework was a shame honestly , nothing unique , and the skill tree itself is really ... Bland.. and not to mention the torch skill tree (ugh) and with every update to the other characters i get more sad about it Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/160920-wilsons-skill-tree-is-even-worse-in-retrospect/#findComment-1758954 Share on other sites

This is the saddest part. He's sole purpose is to be a one time use for newer players. They could have done optional content but no, he has to stay this way. 7 minutes ago, Mr.Oshiro said: And even if it really goes according to their expectations, I don't know if they have considered that Wilson is so boring when other characters have very powerful and interesting skill trees (compared to Wilson), how many new players will use him? ShadowDuelist
Wilson should be able to learn to prototype from the science stations he has affinity for: dark affinty lets him learn the recipes he crafts from the shadow plinth and pseudoscience, and lunar affinity from the lunar forge and the moonnisland’s stations. It wont still be “amazing” but it would make more sense to be able to use the gems he creates on the go. Also the torch tree should match his mad scientist skills: let us attach gunpowder to the torch he throws, or stick the torch to enemies, stick the explosive torches to bunnies and make them run to their explosive doom against other enemies, or even make that the torches that are left on the ground scare away nightmares for a few seconds. Weird funny Stuff like that… Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/160920-wilsons-skill-tree-is-even-worse-in-retrospect/#findComment-1758960 Share on other sites

Jakepeng99
Wortox skilltree is pretty cool. Wilson could be so mucu better if he had transmutations as useful as the meat ones, and his torch tree affected all light sources. He's NOT THE STARTER CHARACTER JUST BECAUSE HE'S IN THE FIRST SLOT IN CHARACTER SELECTION. THAT ONLY WORKS IN DS. Also in DS, EVERYONE else have downsides that can disrupt your gameplay in a way (be it major or minor). He JUST has his beard which is good for winter and bad for summer, and even then he could just shave it. I felt like I had made my points VERY CLEAR regarding what Wilson should have, but seeing that we're getting REDUNDANT SKILLS with Wigfrid and Wortox's reviving perks; I have MUCH LESSER HOPE for Klei to go back and rethink what perks suit each character. RexySeven
I hate skilltrees and I enjoy playing character that is specifically intentionally made without a wacky skilltree. DaDa_waw
To be honest, I strongly support your viewpoint. On this basis, I also believe that there is a lot of room for adjustment in the skill trees of Wigfrid and Wormwood. All weapons in the Wigfrid skill tree are not linked, and training cows only has a slight linkage with singing. Then, all of her other characteristics are separated, and the two affinity skills are like cheap fillers. There are many restrictions and very little playability that make up the skill tree of Wigfrid. I hope she can have adjustments and updates such as spear throwing, dual wielding weapons, battle bulls and weapon combinations, more interesting affinities, and so on. There are also many minor issues with the Wormwood skill tree. I don't understand why Brambleshade Armor is not compatible with Moonguard I, which looks like a funny low-level bug. As the most adept at taking care of crops, Wormwood receives the lowest agricultural rewards, and crops cannot recover anything beyond their satiety, which is an unhealthy design. I hope that every time crops grow, Wormwood will also increase their flowering rate and make their lives healthier. If the crops are all satisfied, Wormwood will receive more benefits。 For example, every time a giant crop is planted (counted once per crop), Wormwood's maximum health will increase by 10 points, basic defense will increase by 5%, and the rate of blood absorption will increase by 5%. In summary, there are many areas where character skill trees can be optimized. I hope that each character should receive something more interesting in order to encourage people to play. ! I hope these things can be taken seriously after this skill tree! Like the Winona I've been playing with recently, her skill tree has made me so satisfied. I can't imagine how there could be such a dedicated skill tree, interlocking with a wide range of choices and a strong sense of achievement. Who can experience the same pleasure as establishing a full image transmission network matrix? Anyway, it's not something that a character with a failed skill tree can enjoy Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/160920-wilsons-skill-tree-is-even-worse-in-retrospect/#findComment-1790815 Share on other sites
