goblinball
I really like the post rifts stuff we have now. They’re very cool! However, I was thinking about it and realized that a lot of the lategame stuff looks kinda samey. Yknow, all lunar stuff has the same palette of white and light blue (I guess there’s wagstaff gadgets as well), all shadow stuff has the same palette and visual motifs of black and red, etc. I’m hoping these colors and design similarities don’t remain a constant, I think it’d be a bit tiring if almost everything latwgame was one of 2 colors. I’m curious to hear what you guys think. Is this just a me thing, and nobody else is bothered by the consistency in post rift stuff’s designs? Or would you guys also prefer for the scope of what is “lunar” and “shadow” to be expanded a bit more to allow for more interesting and unique designs? salty_cookie
Klei has to add skins to planar items so I can finally achieve drip lategame. -Variant
I could see it going both ways. I guess in part I'd be... fine with the faction stuff looking same-y since they're not all that make up ""endgame"" now, with things like Acid rain and Lunar Hail and other things coming into play. Still wish Acid infused things got some minor art changes! I think it'd be nice to have a bunch of glowing green acidic things down there during the rain, rather than the simple steaming FX. I worry about a Monkey's Paw situation though. Variety is nice but I fear that trying to push the factions' distinct looks could leave us with a bunch of vastly different/inconsistent looks of what we've got. Dunno, we shall see in tttiimmmeeeee. Admittedly the base Brightshade/Void skins do go very hard. The visuals are great and the animations are quite nice (I still adore the chains on the void robe in particular). I would still be down for skins (especially for the weapons, since I feel those are used/seen by far the most in terms of effects), though at least the base skin forms already stand out a lot more then just about every other base skin set. I get what you’re saying, but I personally have faith in klei to come up with cool stuff that still fits. Stuff like the shattered spiders and moonstorm birds still fit in with the other lunar content even if they don’t have that signature light blue. (I really like the pink crystals and general designs of the shattered spiders in general, I’d love to see more stuff like that). I also agree with what you said about the acid rain stuff, it’s a really cool idea that’s currently a bit underutilized.
