Many crops in the game require more uses

Eggplants could use a recipe but they’re good on their own even completely raw. That makes them reasonably unique.

Yes, you're right. Braised eggplant is indeed good, but its unique cuisine is not as excellent as the ingredients, which is unacceptable from any perspective.

I think you should be able to craft silk from corn. Mostly just because it's funny, regardless of having to deal with spiders.

This reminds me. It is more reasonable to produce 3 servings of popcorn after cooking corn, and popcorn can restore a little sanity. Considering that there is also corn fish in the game, I think corn can be cooked into tortillas as a basic dish, and then more ingredients can be added to cook various types of tacos, so that we have a taco system.

Agreed on pumpkins. Giant pumpkin  and honey in the box even stay good a long time or forever on their own. Not sure why OP mentioned them.

What's the use of having a long shelf life if the attributes are not excellent enough? To be honest, in many cases, when collecting other resources, you will gather a lot of food without intentionally collecting it, and these foods can also make good dishes. But pumpkins are definitely intentionally planted by you, even if pumpkin cookies have good sanity recovery, it's not enough.

Pomegranade+gun powder = throwing gun powder. Simple and basically is c&p from cocogranades from sw. Idk why they dont do such fun thing

I used to think KLEI was too conservative and didn't add these things, but since the skill tree came out, I realized that they just forgot the old things.

Pome-granade.

It would be cool if we had some sort of way to offload crops. As wormwood I make crops at such a productive scale over half the profits just go directly into bundles, never seeing the light of day again. (I still have a bundle of 80 pumpkins I made year 2; 1,300 days in now)  Like, other than taming a beefalo, there's not too much to do with a bunch of food. I eventually just started using a tent to turn food into living logs because I had nothing else to do with it. I'd love to trade them for something helpful, I just don't know what that helpful stuff would be.

Yes, we need more ways to handle these crops, not just filling up several refrigerators.

Another thing.

Pomegranates and watermelons should be able to substitute berries in berry specific dishes. As should most fruits, at any rate

This is a good idea, but there is only one berry specific dish in the game...... Perhaps we can make various jams, like syrup in the Gorge, as basic ingredients to cook more sophisticated dishes.

There's two; the ones i can name off the top of my head are Waffles and Trail Mix. Perhaps its the furstration of subbingbPomegranate for Berries in waffles and getting Not Waffles so long ago that us speaking here.

Also yes we have jars ingame we should be able to make jams/pickles/preserves

you could just get the shrooms once and then tank through BQ for jelly beans

you can literally tank bosses with out spending 2 entire hp bars if your hp's 150 or above that

You'll need to be bundle wrapping your full supply, then. And you'll still be grinding BQ (in the time and place required). Don't assume that everyone else enjoys doing that.

Doubtful. Certainly not most serious bosses.

What needs to be changed for crops is the stack sizes.

Most crops have a stack size of 40 which is great and then there are eggplants which only stack to 20...

I mean sure, the more bulkier crops maybe could stack less? Eggplants are filling 25 hunger on their own but why do pumpkins stack to 40 when they're filling 37,5 hunger?

This needs fixing as this keeps bothering me to no end, especially because most people are already getting annoyed when the only 2 iceboxes in the base are being occupied by random veggies and their seeds. Do we need 2 stacks of eggsplants in the fridge as well?

Pumpkins also stack to 20

What also bothers me is that when cooked, eggplants and pumpkins inconsistently stack to 40

no, you can just kill it once and then throw the left over shrooms away, if 2160 hp worth of healing isn't enough for practically an entire play through for you idk what to tell you

you can do that with BQ, dfly and FW if not also tanking grumbles or lavaes

The stacking standards for these things are confusing, and I don't know how KLEI determines the upper limit, whether it's based on size, attributes, or something else.

You don't get healing at full health, and you'll be popping at least one bean per boss. (If you're tossing the shrooms, you're going to waste your beans outside combat.) Also depends on the length of your playthrough, marble armor usage. (My main world is at thousands of days, 1 BQ kill.)

For comparison, that's at most 54 dragonpies or pierogi, which you can also use whenever. Or 108 blue caps.

At any rate, this discussion involves mushrooms vs crops, so jelly beans are irrelevant.
