Scrumch
Don't qoute me on this; but I'm pretty sure we've been given the word of god that Wanda is supposed to be the last character DST will ever get. But, hypothetically... I agree. If solely to make the character select screen an even grid. I don't think porting another DLC character over would work. Wormwood and Warly already rep their DLCs and one more would unbalance things. I do have a feeling Klei wants to avoid looking like they're riffing off of mods - and DST has a LOT of character mods. Reviving a dead concept character could be fun, but again most of them have already had their ideas used! Waverly would've fit nicely but Wanda kinda fills that aesthetic of 'magic old lady' already. Wilton was going to Woodlegs, Winnie BECAME Wigfrid, Pyro was just an internal fan project and I doubt Valve would let them monitise it. That leaves what: Wallace and Watricia? They're extremely threadbare concepts to begin with. Watricia at least had a mail courier gimmick - Wallace is literally just 'Scotland'. The common suggestion of a sailing themed character... I don't quite get it. Woodlegs and Walani work in Shipwrecked because you sailing in that DLC is much easier and something you have to engage with constantly due to the archipelago map design. Sailing in DST is less a direct state of being and more of a resource tax to engage with Lunar themed stuff. You'd be railroading a character into something most players spend like 15% of their world time doing. You'd think Wagstaff would've been added but given how's implemented in-game - I feel Klei wants him to be a character you can only examine when he's all by himself. Having Wilson just be able to talk to him directly in-game would flatten their dynamic. I'd personally like a lunar-character. I know Wormwood is supposed to be that, but he isn't tied to Lunar magic the way Maxwell is to Shadow magic. Realistically (for a hypothetical I know) - we'd get some kind of New Home crossover, if or when that game gets over here. As a way of bridging the gap between the games. Or here me out Klei, you add in a character from Grifltands considering it got no crossover promotion in DST but ONI and Hot Lava did...
