I don't understand. When can we adjust the W.I.N.bot?

Recommended Posts

Pressing the space bar to pick up the WINbot is extremely unreasonable.  Like the bearbin falls when you open it.
Once the working bots were picked up, they had to be redeployed by Winona. Maybe the designers don't play the game at all, causing them to have no idea about how easy and often it is to accidentally pick up the bots?
Please don't say anything like "Don't use it if you don't like it", no more please. This is a simple matter of changing "press the space bar to pick up" to "use the left click to pick up".

you can definitely tell the devs don't play their game like at all. Might be pretty common in the industry idk.

Not everyone has the time to spend hundreds of hours into a game like us poors and uglies without jobs.

@Frosty_Mentos speak for yourself lol, i enjoy dst in my downtime

Some people enjoy other hobbies. Just because you work on dst all day doesn't mean you want to play it.

I'm not sure if klei has game testers tho unless that's just the general player base in a beta.

I'm assuming this is intentionally the case since they don't really want you swapping anymore to Winona and try to force you to play as Winona to set up WIN-BOTS and continue to use them. Every time you accidently pick up a WIN-BOT you must play as Winona again to fix it, which I assume is the intention probably. (I'm still kinda annoyed that craftable WOBOTS only exist a a character specific craft for no good reason. Universal WOBOTS was something most people wanted and it to be another fun feature that requires character swapping is a bit sad to me)

I'm pretty sure they don't have game testers for in the Pre-Update streams one of the main features of the new update sometimes ends up crashing their game, despite it not doing anything out of the ordinary. I assume this is why most of the time the betas are a bit longer since they need more normal player feedback on bugs and such.

I worked as a game tester in the past for a game I enjoyed (AoE2). Having to show up for work 8 hours a day really burns the desire to play that same game at home for fun.

Hello everyone! Please explain what the problem is with WINBOT? I haven't played Winona for a long time and have been using WOBOT for over 500 days now. I used to think that I would have a lot of problems, especially with the fact that it needs to be constantly repaired. It turns out that WOBOT is a pretty balanced thing and is really very convenient. I'm interested to know what the problem is with WINBOT. If only that you can raise it with Space - I don't think it's a problem

Its the fact that people would switch to Winona and make many WINBOTS and generators the WINBOTS could automatically recharge themselves with. Winona is the only character able to deploy WINBOTS for action. Then people would switch back to their regular character and continue to use the WINBOTS as essentially extra WOBOTS that weren't limited to one for the entire game.

However many are used to using space to picking up items so they would accidently pick up the WINBOTS while doing other tasks. When the WINBOT is back in a players inventory it must be redeployed, hence needing to switch back to Winona just to set up something that didn't really have to break in the first place.

im keep playing as Winona, and i had to transmit to several places to check if the damn bots needed to be redeployed, every few days in game.

The WINbot can be deployed next to the generator,  charging itself.  And it works faster than Wobot. But it must be deployed by Winona.  Since it can pick things up everywhere,  it is easy for anyone to pick them up,  causing Venona to have to constantly redeploy it.

I will argue heavily against this, I know several game development companies well more particularly people in those companies, who do in fact play their own games, the original Borderlands was created due to Pitchford being passionate and putting his heart into it to not only make a great game, but to also make a game he could enjoy playing as he created it.

Same thing with the State of Decay devs & Trinity Fusions small dev team.

Klei even not too long ago hired one of the mod creators for DST to join them officially to create content for the game, so that right there is someone who is passionate about creating content for and playing the game.

I just wish more and more of the devs actually played their own game, and preferably without god mode enabled because watching them NOT play the game on their live streams and get kicked around by Chuck Norris king rabbit is just embarrassing. :wilson_facepalm:
But also funny.. so I forgive them! <3

The thing is though, that the best games are the ones the developers actually enjoy playing.
