dont know about you but shadow side still feels kind of worse in items and stuff then moon side, i mean, a weapon that loses durability even if not used? and it loses its level ups if it does get to 0, like thats goin to be a big hassle keeping that thing up with its level up

It heals 10hp a hit.

Its basically a free win when fully charged.

In fact, the only option is to be young.

I don't think even the developers know, since the real cannons of the game are Wolfgang, Wigfrid late after celestial champion, Winona, Maxwell after Ancient Fuelweaver...

Compare Wanda's weapon DPS with the new weapons and then prove to me that she is the cannon of the game.

I agree, however with the Crystal and several downsides that no other character has.

This "cannon" speech is one of the most trivial things for me on this forum. The other is that Wilson cannot be improved because he is the standard of the game.

And remembering that Wanda's weapon has a lower effective DPS than normal weapons, so a damage of x from it is less than the same damage of x from another weapon.

Why are you using a football helmet against a planar mob?

Thats death for any character who is at that hp threshold and Wanda is no different.

that is you first need boss kills for it to level up, and i dont know how it works when there like 4 people all attackin the same boss, does the one with the weapon do the final hit? or does he only need to do a % amount of damage for the kill to count for the weapon? and it alsol goes back to level 1 when it does get 0 durability

when are you goin to use football helmet against planar? well....when you dont have the planar armour of course, the first time you just dont have the things...or the second time because shadow rift said its mimic time and so no cloth for you

I actually don't have any problem with these monsters. On the contrary, I like them and I even want them to finish the beta in their current form.

The real danger would be failing to dodge them when they fall or colliding with one of them while trying to dodge the others. At that specific moment, I would never be wearing any kind of helmet. I would be wearing moggles or Thulecite Crown when moving through the caves. So it would be instant death even at 20 years old.

But to be honest, I think it's almost impossible to die to them during the fall, because they are slow. Of course, there will always be the risk of trying to dodge one and falling into another, but it's a low risk.

Klei can leave them the way they are. It's not a problem for me.

I'm just showing Wanda's numbers. Nothing too much, nothing too little.

In my opinion, the only thing Klei could improve is the Great Depths Worm loot. The rest of the beta is fine for me.

Can you put Scrapbook in the main menu, please? And why Great Depths Worms are not in Giants category?

Because they're technically not bosses, they're just regular enemies.

I could see this changing in the future, but as of now they don't seem to have the "epic" tag.

yeah, look a "mini" boss, btw clearly a Giant. I believe they can think of a reasonable loot for her and call it a boss.

Treeguard and Spider Queen are bosses then?

Poison Birchnut Tree should be in the same category as a Tree Guard, but it isn't.

Treeguard and Spider Queen have the epic tag, and in this update, they were given the "smallepic" tag, which just means that the Shadow Maul can't level up off of them.

Poison Birchnut Tree not being there is kinda odd though, maybe because it's more of a hostile structure or object than an attackable mob?

The Great Depths Worm currently isn't tagged epic or smallepic.

I think it would make a lot of sense for Poison Birchnut Tree, Varg and The Great Depths Worm to be on the giant list. Of course, this is a minor thing for the game itself.

Don't lose your mind on it. It's Klei we are talking about....what they say today, it's already different tomorrow and re-write completely the first thing they said the day after tomorrow. Small trivia: Treeguards and Spider Queens are bosses because they were the first two bosses in the game!! They're just ancient relics, not updated or polished anymore.

Whaaaattt??? Realllly??? That's idiotic. What the hell is a "smallepic"??? A treeguard is not and should not be less epic than Deerclops, a literal glorified Treeguard. I will keep on classifing them as bosses.

It's our first proper official classification for minibosses, essentially.

Most smaller mobs that were considered bosses have been demoted to proper miniboss status as of the beta, so the ones listed including the Lord of the Fruit Flies.
This is to prevent the Shadow Maul from upgrading off of them, as there was no difference between the bosses.

I never got why people are so against this... Can someone please explain?  I mean, yeah, the new blue is a bit jarring, but I don't think its too bad...

I want to like the night berry, but the constant annoying "wheeeew" ambience and heartbeat on top of the nuclear blue filter just hurts too much to use reliability without causing me a headache. It's an incredibly cool item, but it sadly comes with an irl downside.

I love the "heartbeat" (I considered it a "headache" simulation) so MUCH, but I have to disable my sound as soon as it starts because the heartbeat plus the "veins" overlay causes me a panic attack xD (Sadly not funny, it really did while I played the beta and spawned in a nightberry for fun). But without sound I can endure it, so I can only assume it is my association with the veins + heartbeat sound with panic attacks / intense headache stress cause by noise that causes the panic attack for it.

(So sad SO SAD cause I adore the aesthetics so much!) I will simply solve this by turning off my sound in case I get to eat a nightberry and turn it on when nightberry is over, but it's still a loss especially in caves (Caves sounds = :love_heart: It's sad to be in caves without sound)

Я так и не понял, почему люди так против этого... Кто-нибудь может, пожалуйста, объяснить? Я имею в виду, да, новый blue немного раздражает, но я не думаю, что это так уж плохо...

Some people really don't like it, for example, it literally causes me pain from looking at it.

I have no problems with my eyes, but looking at the game makes me very uncomfortable. This color is very unpleasant to the eye and looking at the blue effect, which is the most harmful to the eye, it causes pain and fatigue

There's a lot of people here with sensitive eyes.

I, myself, am blind in one eye and sensitive in the remaining one, the overly bright new saturated blue filter not only hurts my eyes but causes strain and headaches over time. The blue in the beta was far more desaturated and tolerable, even if it itself wasn't perfect.

Its not something that effects everyone, but for those who are bothered by it, the new one is pretty bad, even with its slight tone down.

Thank you all for keeping it civil and explaining it. I honestly expected a bunch of people with torches and pitchforks at this point, lol. I haven't used the nightberry too much. so I can't make too much of a judgement either way.

Edit: for those on PC and Steam Deck, there is a mod to bring back the old filter. I absolutley agree that console gets the short end of the stick... (as with most other games)

I don’t want to sound like I’m being mean here cause well I’ve had to wear glasses my entire life. But I’m just genuinely curious how you could possibly play something like Fortnite? (If you do play it)

Or if you DON’T play FN, I’m curious as to how your eyes can handle game reboots/remakes/ next Gen remasters.

Cause for example when Fortnite was upgraded from last Gen consoles to next Gen they also updated the game to run on a brand new game engine (which made bright colors brighter, dark colors darker etc..)

Like compare someone play Fortnite on an Xbox One vs Series X/S I can’t really explain it but blues are bluer, whites more blinding.. etc…

When it comes to DS/DST for me personally the “Darker” colors at night makes it harder to distinguish the Swamp Biome from the Ocean, so back when boats pretty much exploded colliding with land… well let’s just say I sunk plenty of vessels.

Not the person you replied to, but I have photosensitivity so bad that there are some games I cannot play / have to play on reduced settings because they can give me eye-strain and migraines.

Personally I have no problem playing Fortnite. It has bright and cartoon colours but it is not blinding, and generally I'm focussing on a specific point on the screen. There have also been no full-screen flashbangs in any season I've played (if your game makes my screen flash white: I hate your game). If I'm staring at the horizon looking for players then I'm not being bothered by the grass being very saturated. I've even been able to play games like Everhood in limited capacity because I'm staring at my player character and not at the weird visual effects happening. It's not about the presence of bright colours alone, it's how those colours are used in a scene along with other colours and how domineering they are... generally half decent art direction prevents this from being a problem.

With stuff like the Nightberry the entire screen is intensely saturated. I cannot avoid looking at it. For reference, I also have to mod my game to turn off snow because it is similarly domineering and is so bright it hurts my eyes.

The weirdest games set off my migraines. Probably not the sort people without photosensitivity expect. For instance, I couldn't play Wobbledogs comfortably until I unlocked dark wallpaper or carpets to give my eyes a break from the nightmarishly saturated colours everything else in the game had!

so i take it you and i are in the same space on terrria's moonlord boss then? i got real messed up the first time with that fella

Yes, both Moonlord and Empress of Light are tiring for me to fight if I have to do it for too long hahaha. Moonlord because he likes to turn the screen white, and Empress because I have to stare at her projectiles to dodge them and they are extremely saturated - though she wasn't so bad once I learned her patterns. Moonlord particularly was not fun to fight without knowing beforehand that he was going to repeatedly flashbang me. I still find his fight really disorientating.

My eyes don't even like brief flashes of light, so can I just add that I'm extremely grateful DST does turn my screen entirely white whenever there is a thunderstrike? And that it has flash dimming settings to begin with? One of the worst offenders for me is devs adding random full-screen flashes of light as a cool neat 'immersive' environmental detail and it drives me absolutely crazy.

If DST is going to continue introducing screen-wide effects like this, I also hope in the future they have a toggle to turn them off. I don't think I'd get any unfair advantage over a player who can stomach looking at the filter if I could disable or dim it without using mods.

are they not affected by the settings page where you can minimise light effects and turn off bloom?

If you're talking about the nightberry filter, no; I play with bloom disabled and screen flashes turned to dimmest and it looks the same on my game as screenshots I've seen.
