have you seen the darkness attack animation? what i want to know is why she is ok with you being in the dark when you sleep, no night vission, no light, just sleep roll

Interestingly shadow creatures do the same I think they're just well mannered ladies and gents

i think it is the same logic as nightmare creatures; if you arent afraid she has no power over you

So say Webber got partial night vision because he part spider(he doesn’t currently but hypothetically)

would only being able to see silhouettes be enough lack of sight to cause the fear for the attacks to go into effect

This must be game logic.

Maxwell

Literally my answer to half of DS and most of DST's gameplay :3

That depends whether Webber is one of those children that fear the sight of silhouettes. Depending on his age he may still be in that phase where most children fear the darkness and interprete silhouettes as monsters, so I would say, either yes or no, depending on his human side's fears.

in the context of the game? about as much as the flickering half-spectres do i am sure though i lean more towards what npcmaxwell said. webber is still a child even if the spider half is an adult

What is a flickering half-spectre

also what did you mean by that wavy inspection

@Dr.Webber considering it's an actually hazardous wilderniss and shadows have shown to turn into actually agression towards the player after a while plus children of that age sometimes still being massively influenced by "magical thinking" and stuff, he may associate the silhouettes with what is often called "monsters under the bed / in the closet" etc. the darkness being extremly scary and a source of nightmares or fear of being in a dark room in general. Now having actually been in a wilderniss in which THOSE THREADS actually exist under certain conditions I am sure just being able to see silhouettes via nightvision would not calm his human little-boy side's fear at all, so Charlie would still be able to sense and bite him. (after all her "bite" animation is a shadow hand thrusting itsself through the character's chest. That sure must be extremly scary to even imagine for a little boy, even if we assume he had been never bitten before and just "saw" others being attacked this way via nightvision [we know what the Charlie bite looks like because woodie can see it when his cursed form has nightvision and other players around him are bitten by her] )

when you are in the beginning stages of insanity(but are not fully insane) you will see nightmare creatures but they will not be interactable and will be much more transparent than if you were able to interact with them

the wavy is because we were talking about "scary" stuff and wavy is a "scary" react. it was thematic.

i am a grown man and at 3am in a quiet house i indulge in magical thinking all the way up a dark staircase at double speed x'''D

You mean mister skits

that's not how that works, walter's sanity doesn't get decreased when in darkness and he isn't immune to darkness attacking him any way, sanity being at some value or decreasing with some speed also doesn't affect darkness immunity

Walter may be an exception? Maybe they also attack those who are too curious?

terrorbeaks and crawling horror. mister skits seems to be neutral as far as i know(though i tend to not let myself go insane so i have limited interaction with nightmares)

Oh you mean the the point where they don’t attack yet but you can see them

I think you have to be aware of shadow creatures for them to be aware of you.

But does the sleep status effect protect you like proper sleeping does?

ooooh, that is a good question! i would assume if you were targeted they'd just go for you no matter what like a hound but i have never gotten fully insane while having access to a sleep method
