Nightmare Amulet getting an additional effect, or an idea for an item with such effect.

Phasing, is the thing what I wanna propose. Going through walls, objects, things like you'd be in ghost mode while being swarmed by shadows that see you abusing that power. It could become a thing you use to travel through cave walls perhaps, it could give you invisibility as you're partially in another plane of existence, or it could provide some sort of knowledge on harvesting more nightmare fuel and either overloading fissures or making nightmares more nightmarish but drop a lot more fuel or even pure horror.

It speaks to shadows and makes you see them while turning your head to have nightmares. Bone helmet is basically that but nightmares don't attack you, but nightmare amulet doesn't really have all that amazing uses besides that one time when you want no sanity to pass obelisks, or fighting with fuelweaver and wanting to swap sanity states.

It's a weird and finicky item to use, not fit for fuel farming as the consumption rate on it is very high. For a pricy item one would imagine it being more special and useful but that's a rare thing to be utilized, kinda like how telelocator staffs are for quick get aways but later on they don't really feel as useful, well, unless traveling back home when it comes to solo.

Getting pure horror by using the amulet might be a decent option when cave diving or something.

I'm thinking more that it would make cave walls generally just exist how they are, but the amulet would let you pass or spit you out of the wall into nearest one if unequipped.

Don't need new walls, just gotta work like a long ranged Rescue command if it's not in effect.

I would rather have more insanity effects and interactions (resulting in indirect buffs to nightmare amulet) than buffing the nightmare amulet directly.
This game has a lot of room for introducing more "when insane" effects into the game.

I think the amulet is good for what it is. I'm not sure if it would be a QOL or gamebreaking mechanic if you could recharge it like the purple, yellow and orange amulets.

Imagine it breaks while your still in a structure or the game crosses wires and you get stuck without a breaking
