Midsummer cawnavil need More mechanics that effects the world?

Recommended Posts

One problem i see with the event is that it is all tied inside of the cawnavil. I feel like it should effect the world more outside of what crovus offers since it is a yearly event. For example, crows dropping tokens and corn seeds, the decoration loot box things having a rare chance of being dropped by random things like chopping a tree. Bigger things than this, but its the small things that add up, like the food dropped by mobs at Winters feast. Very few actually do the gingerbread stuff, but all can benifit from the food drops (and, the bundling wrap but thats not the point).

Things like this will make the event more impactful for everyone rather than just an optional distraction that not all partake in. Its built more like a big new year event.

No thank you. The reason why I love the Cawnival so much is specifically because it is so isolated. While I enjoy certain aspects of Winter's Feast and the Halloween one, having the gingerbread pigs and varg are really annoying along with the little food bits that spawn frequently when killing enemies. Giving pig kind to get flooded with candies is angering and chopping down large amounts of trees only to go insane from bats is infuriating.

Having some global thing would make the Cawnival go from something I love to something I never turn on again. Can't speak for everyone though, nor should I.

This is one of the Cawnival's biggest strengths, in my opinion, the fact that it's all content you entirely change your gameplay to go engage with in a unique way, while other events give you more rewards for playing the game the exact same way, and thus playing WITHOUT those events means constantly missing out on more rewards for the same effort. Back in the day before an event toggle properly existed, I would genuinely spend a good 10 months of the year avoiding bosses entirely so that I could then binge-fight them when Winter's Feast was enabled because, if I were to fight Toadstool for example at any other time of the year, I would be putting in the same amount of effort for less rewards cause she wouldn't drop any ornaments.

I wouldn't mind maybe a texture rechange like all the decid trees changing red like the carnival, and maybe crows have like a little bow around them. But I agree that other effects like bats would change this event alot and make it not as unique

I totally agree here. I do keep Winter's feast always on in my long term world but it's such a hassle to clean up after all the enemies! I can manage boss arenas clean by picking up and sorting their loot manually, and I put a wobot in my bunny spider farm. But places like automatic volt goat pens, cave entrances with bunny hatches and bats, and the ruins are just the worst. Did you know that nightmares that spawn during nightmare phase will drop Winter's feast foods even if they despawned instead of being killed? I have this one area in military biome with lots of nightmare lights and no statues. I don't bother going to that place to clear just a few clockworks. But every once in a while, maybe every 10th ruins reset I go there on a massive clearing of all the gingerbread crap on the floor. Where do terrorbeaks get candy canes and cookies and why do they carry them around? It's ridiculous both lore-wise and gameplay-wise. They don't drop nightmare fuel when they despawn so why do they drop all the Winter's feast foods then?

Another event I dread for all the clutter is year of the catcoon. Having those gold nuggets uncontrollably pile up by catcoon dens offscreen would make the already loaded server unplayable. I absolutely adore kitcoons though, the mini game and toys are all super cute. But it's impossible to have this event be turned on for a long time . :(

Hear me out here, There’s a Cawnival mini game where you fed worms to mechanical birds.

Sooooo why not take that entire concept and turn it into a boss skin for Antlion? Like just this big mechanical bird and reskin her “sand spikes” to be the baby mechanical birds popping up.

It would be hilariously thematic for the Event.

crows dropping corn seeds is cute(popcorn too) but i agree with everyone else that it would be a lot more clutter to have things outside of just the designated cawnival area. corvis would be turned right off in that situation. i only deal with the winter's feast because i love the little log rolls and decorating trees

The only gameplay-affecting Cawnival addition I want, and I mean the only one, is the ability to buy worms that I can use as cheap fishing bait. It gets consumed when you catch a fish like a berry, but you can buy it with Cawnival tickets. That is all.

Ok then.

I think the event should be over. We should have newer things and not be stuck in a constant cycle of trying to reinvigorate old content.

This isn’t the first year the Cawnival went without new content so at this point- like a lot of the projects Klei starts but do not finish… we can probably call this Event Dead in The Water.

Nah, i'd consider it concluded tbh. What makes it dead in the water? What element was not finished?
