I like him, I hope his healing abilities will get a few skills, cause I love being a healer, hehe.

I hope he gets castable spells that relate to his abilities, like healing translating into growing plants or healing translating to reviving dead mobs

Teleportation should be a no brainer, just objects, enemies and other players could be teleported

I really like wortox, he’s up there as one of my most played characters. I don’t think he necessarily needs a skill tree but they could do so much with it to make him an even more fun character that I can’t wait for him to get one.

my biggest issue with wortox is that despite him being depicted as like mischievous and a little prankster this isn’t reflected in his toolkit. I like him being a healer but I’d also like to be able to play tricks on mobs and cause mischief and mayhem in the constant.

I've purchased him recently with spools and he is my favorite char so far, great for anything that isn't food related. A shame he is a DLC char cuz he would be a good learning wheel for new player and i feel like he isn't bad as people say most of the time, you can do most things getting two in one and there is a lot of ways do deal with sanity. I don't feel like he even need a skill tree so far and i hope he don't end the same way as willow who was gutted of her original playstile for a fire mage of sorts.

Wortox is pretty tight character I feel like any changes with his skill tree are gonna be minor akin, to Wolfgangs.

Out of curiosity, in which scenario that would be better than using normal atack ?

bearger/deerclops attacking base, saving passive mobs from a hound or hounds, preventing krampus from escaping, volt goats, killing birds, killing rabbits, offensive escape, depending on how many iframes it has, could be used to evade bishop laser.

I could keep brainstorming

He’s just fine.

His abilities are limited. Good early game but seem to fall off hard. But I said that they are enough as they are. Because we don’t need a killer beehive enjoyer who does everything with his souls. His farming is easy to set up so his powers should be narrow, as they are now.

He’s in fact one of the few remaining lean and simple characters. Straightforward perks and downsides, no BS, no eighteen different character-specific crafts. Just hee-heya impish... boy.

For contexts I’ve only played him in short-term worlds.

This would be good.

What character mod is that?

not sure. some anime one.

My only thoughts on Wortox are that I don't like him because of the soul-eating demon aesthetic he has. As a DOOM enjoyer, I'm used to that being a type of enemy I kill with very big guns, not a healer on my team, and it just feels like a weird conflict of vibes between his role and what he's like as a character.

That could be aided in his skilltree if they add a spell to make his souls explode instead of heal, maybe?

I'm not saying I want anything changed. I'm just saying that my opinion on him is that I don't care much for his aesthetic. Personal tastes.

I honestly think it’s the darkest part of the game. Depends on what a soul is though. If it really is your eternal essence then uuuh

First off, he needs a skill tree branch related to being a trickster. All we've got so far are his quotes.

As for balance, I think his downsides outweigh his upsides. His teleports are handy when you want to use them, but the Warly-style downside is permanent and can't be avoided by eating a variety of dishes. Souls heal 20 and stack to 20. A number of crock pot foods heal 40-60 and stack to 40 (multiple stacks are possible, but unnecessary). Sure, he can heal other players, but they're perfectly capable of healing themselves. He gets the "monster" tag like Webber (pig/bunnyman/catcoon hostile), but no minions of his own to make up for it.

It's not that his downsides are all that terrible, but that he just doesn't have enough upside to justify them. His skill tree has a chance to make up for that if it gives him some more useful abilities.

His downside is reaaaaaally noticeable but I think the map-teleport buff to him is the major change that made it all worth it. Wortox is also really good for the more experienced player to use when playing with a new player because you have cheap access to healing, and can do it without the new player needing to do any input. It's a big help, and presumably you would already be good enough to compensate for his downside.

But his downside is just too obnoxious for me to play him, it really wears down on you with long-term games. I don't think they should nerf his downside though because the ability to freely teleport at such long ranges to save on time is crazy good, and if I remember correctly he even has invincibility frames during teleporting.

I guess the worst part of his abilities is the soul overloading, 20 souls is not enough to do cool shenanigans during fights, and it's extremely detrimental in the Fuelweaver fight forcing you to waste time "wasting" souls so you don't overload.

I dunno it's like his downside really sucks, but also doesn't feel justified to nerf it...but I don't want to play him because of how annoying it is. I dunno man, he's in a weird spot.

Wortox the kinda whippersnapper to either have a life changing skilltree that has unique mechanics or just + 5 healing buffs on souls or smth

In general he just has potential to make me fall in love with his playstyle depending on how creative the skilltree turns out. Base Wortox is good enough though.

I hope they don't allow him to infuse objects with souls, making them animate to life, and becoming followers.

in my skilltree idea for wortox i gave him the ability to animate inanimate objects with souls, but they dont act as followers, just regular variants of the mob

Now that I think about it, they will probably dig more into "being Klaus/Krampus" and give him a bag-o-souls that he can store his souls in. So a player could stockpile more, but would need to do an extra click to "withdraw" them.

Perhaps it would even be given the ability to capture live mobs inside of it, or work as another magical storage.

I'm curious of what people would think if they made him a sort of "soul mage" akin to Willow, not the anti-skill tree people, I know what your thoughts are. But like, pro-wortox skill tree people, would you be happy if Klei gave Wortox a sort of "soul mage" for lack of a better term path in his skill tree?
