Wanda Skillset Layout

Recommended Posts

Just looking at all the characters and I want Wanda's skillset to fit her clock theme. This looks like garbage but hopefully it gets the point across. Most characters have 24 or 25 skill sections. So Wanda would have 26 here. What they would do, idk. I prefer no new items be attached to the skillsets themselves but Klei will do what they do.

What do you think would work for her? I feel like Fueling the Alarming Clock with Pure Brilliance or Pure Horror would be a good way to introduce planar damage. (Assuming she isn't locked into shadow.)

1. That is a very neat idea for the layout

2. I feel like Wanda would have a "Wigfrid" like skill tree in the sense that she more or less focuses on buffing her original craftables instead of adding more items or passive. Examples:

The second chance watch now revives someone with a 10 second thuleite shield around them

The backstop watch can be adjusted to any set length instead of being determined by age, with the age still determining the amount of points she has to go back to

The backtrack watch can now have any gem be socketed into for effects like:

Yellow - a passive mag effect that lasts for 3 minutes

Orange - cooldown is set to half upon teleporting

Red - you are put at 70 degrees and gain a passive 240 winter insulation that slowly goes away over the course of 4 minutes.l

Etc.

Some pasisves could be

Borrowed time - extends the period of which damage is taken, meaning that if you take a hit from like deerclops, that hp is going to go away slower, allowing you to negate it easier

Knowledge through the ages - the sanity drain negation now applies to all Wanda forms

Ect.

I think for the alignments, the shadow one would definitely do something bout pure horror and alarming clock, but O feel the lunar one would be more focused on making a new type of clock. The various quotes that have Wanda express interest in lunar magic all revolve around her making a new clock instead of improving an old one, and it would actually add an interesting dynamic of if you want to increase your end game dps or whatever this lunar clock would do.

This will definitely be useful for non-master players like me. Most of the time, when I receive fatal damage, I cannot use the ageless watch in time and I die. It flows so fast

I definitely liked the idea of making a new watch. I find it reasonable to fill both watches with pure brilliance or pure horror (Moon clock can be filled with pure brilliance and alarming clock can be filled with pure horror) to take planar damage (probably 50% of its total damage). My idea about the new moon watch is that it can deal the same damage at all ages, this damage is 100

The fact that the new weapon deals the same damage at all ages may be a reason for preference for players who like to play Wanda as a young.

What if you get a new clock for both

I have a very silly idea for a Wanda skill tree which is more of a flavour perk rather than an actual useful mechanic: a new clock craft that's a timer/alarm clock. She could set it up to ring after a certain time. Maybe up to 20 days, and with segment subdivisions too. Things where it could potentially be useful: tracking boss respawns, resource replenishment (cacti/reeds come to mind), tracking down respawn timers of McTusks in Winter so you don't forget to visit them when they respawn. Set yourself a reminder about full or new moon, or about any other event you might wanna participate in with friends.

It doesn't feel too OP to me since it's either super niche or can be easily dealt with without a reminder, or already has a way of tracking in the game (moon dial, ocuvigil). But I think it would fit her thematically. It could even be a silly obnoxious device, something like a mechanical rooster-looking clock with spinning cogs, which would make a loud rooster morning call. Or just a comically large alarming clock structure with the only way to shut it down by breaking it with a hammer (maybe it would then drop as a kit you could re-deploy).

i can honestly see them making it so you can add horror or brilliance to alarming clock to "upgrade" it while also giving wanda an aditional skill point related to lunar or shadows that do something else entirely, like a shadow timer that adds a shadow clone to herself while she is old, and a lunar cycle clock that just make young wanda entirely different to play, could be skilled at using tools and favoring brightshade equipment in that age over her alarming clock

I don’t have too many ideas for Wanda’s skill tree, I just want klei to go as wild with her lunar alignment perks as they can. Her tools are so reliant on nightmare fuel I feel that it’s only fitting for her switching to lunar energies to have a drastic effect on her and her toolkit.

I know, zombie Wanda. Allow Wanda to stay past 80 years old.

I want to suggest something crazy for Wanda’s skill tree that I ripped the idea right out of playing Multiversus from, In MV I have noticed how the character “Bugs Bunny” can build a Wormhole portal (his rabbit hole) and can teleport between these portals..

But more importantly than that… he can drop items into those portals (like his safe) and they will fall from the sky above (classic cartoon fashion!)

But this also made me think about games like Portal, where stuff like this is pretty common place.

Soooo as crazy as it’s going to sound- I want the one character who SHOULD be able to make Portal game style portals- To have cool combat based abilities themed AROUND the Portals.

Such as for example: Walter being able to fire slingshot Ammo into her portal, and it being spit back out from a portal she’s cast toward a Boss.

later I’ll draw a concept to better explain it.

I would absolutely not want that. I deal with jerks by letting them die a second time.

In a hypothetical situation where a skill like that existed, you could opt to not take that skill.

But it is pretty funny how you can use a second chance watch to farm free bones when playing with others.
