Mariolo
The objective of this design is to keep 100% productivity through the entire cycle for all 4 trees in order to feed 8 seals without using too many lument quartzs. This uses a sunlamp for half the cycle and 10 ceiling lights for the other half plus 8 lument quartzs (4 on each side). 960*0.5+100*0.5 this ends up consuming 530 watts. Since this produces 320 kg of ethanol per cycle, burning it in a petroleum generator would give you 533.3 watts throughout the cycle. This gives you a wapping 3.3 watts!!! In reality, you lose power accounting for autosweepers, pumping the ethanol, cooling, etc. You could optimize the ceiling lights a lot more but I'm too lazy to do that and even if I did it my be changed in the future. Still, this is probably the best way to ranch this critter as not keeping 100% productivity on the bonbon trees wastes snow. You also have to account for meteor showers so I would place a blaster above this. Autosweeper layout can probably be improved if I tried harder too. Gurgel
You can probably place these quarzes to get overlap in the middle. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/158028-almost-power-positive-seal-ranch/#findComment-1733403 Share on other sites

The reason they are needed on the edges is because they receive less light from the sunlamp. You also don't want to place them directly at the trees since ethanol blocks a small amount of light Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/158028-almost-power-positive-seal-ranch/#findComment-1733434 Share on other sites
larsonco
if you use planter pots for the trees instead of the farm tiles, you can put mesh tiles directly below the trees Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/158028-almost-power-positive-seal-ranch/#findComment-1733446 Share on other sites
SamLogan
Add a second layer above of light, you will have 10K LUX for a really small amount of Watts.
