I'm surprised there aren't any new gas range recipes.

I'm happy to get new crops to grow, critters to ranch, and meals to cook, but I'm surprised that of the 7 new cooked recipes, none  are prepared in the gas range.  I'm also surprised that none have a food quality of 4 or greater, which has me wondering if any of the new recipes can be dehydrated.

There's a high likelihood that they're saving the better foods for the full release and that this preview period is, in fact, preview of what we'll be seeing.

Yeah, there is nothing "gourmet" about it so far. It should either be in a lower research tier or offer high quality recipes.

I agree, the deep-fried food recipes seem to require 2 ingredients.

Yeah the deep fryer could really use a buff. it requires 480W of power, Tier 5 research and an extra ingredient which requires setting up a new ranch with hard to satisfy feeding requirements. And all you get for it is a few more extra calories per meat/fish while at the same food tier so no extra morale. Deep frying squash also needs you to get table salt, which is quite labor intensive to produce as well.

What took me by surprise is that there was no actual wood powered grill and that it was all a skin for the electric grill in the gif Klei showed us...
