My final wishlist Wurt changes for the beta

Recommended Posts

1. Creatorofswamps's idea of allowing Wurt players to use shoddy tools and merm armor.

2.  Remove the merm flee ai as it overrides feeding merms and trying to heal them. Playing tag to interact with them is a very painful gameplay loop.

3. Stop Wurt from overheating in summer with all weather scales at 100% wetness since this doesn't prevent you from freezing in early spring at lower temperatures it could be soon as a net negative if this remains the same.

4. Make mosquitos spawn from skeeter bombs follow Wurt and function like normal followers who focus on her targets when they attack.

5. Remove friendly fire from mosquitos exploding on their burst attack. While I'm fine with Wurt taking damage from the skeeter bomb the mosquitos harming Wurt with their aoe attack can be really dangerous as in more unlucky scenarios they can shred your armor and hp.

6. Allow Wurt to dive in water without jumping from a dock even if she can't swim it would give a nice fast way to gain alot of wetness when your not using Water balloons.

I'm  not expecting these changes since we already got alot of good ones but it would be nice if they have time for them but if any of them were to be fulfilled I pray at least number two is addressed.

Why are you saying final wishlist changes? Did Klei even specify how long the beta was actually going to last? They took THREE months with no beta before releasing a Beta… I was kinda thinking the entire point of a beta was to fix and fine tune and add content during the beta process…

Are they still sticking to their very strict self-imposed schedule of releasing a beta and giving that a limited time for tweaks and feedback before releasing to consoles?

I thought the entire point of the last three months was to work on content without the self imposed time constraints.

It seems well to put it in the nicest way I can word this.. “Bizarre” to take 3 months before doing a beta, and then releasing said beta but still not giving that beta enough time to get proper tweaks and feedback before going public.

I bet you that even though the beta has been out what 1-2 weeks? That not enough players of the beta using an Xbox or PlayStation or Now also even a Nintendo Switch controller have provided them with enough feedback on how good (or not so good) the new beta stuff feels using a controller.

I was under the impression that Klei would release the beta EARLY (like 3 months ago to be exact..) and then 3 months later after lots of tweaks and feedback, finally go live with it.

Am I missing the entire point of “beta” or something???

I played in the Closed Alpha the Closed Beta and the open Betas for both Watchdogs AND the Division and the Division 2… and it was still roughly a full year after the betas ended before the actual game launched.

Anyone who played Multiversus prior to its re-release this May, congratulations you were in its “Beta” before it took an entire year and resurfaced later.

all good ideas. tbh they should limit the amount of mosquitos that you can spawn with the bombs too. having the ability to spawn tons of entities is gonna overload servers. I hope they change the mosquito targeting. I'd hate to be on the receiving end of someone yeeting a hundred mosquitoes at me

They said they ran out of time for changes to the shark boss  so I'm assuming we're getting close to the end of the beta besides we can't have the beta go on forever.

Also I don't think it's fair to imply the months didn't amount to much even if people are unsatisfied with Wurt's current state there seems to be no doubt that she consumed alot of development time that they probably wouldn't have had otherwise between all the new merm mechanics and mob interactions.

The friendly fire only applies to the thrower for the bomb itself though the self destruction mosquitos can hurt anyone.

Also on one hand I agree that computers can be overloaded by them on the other I'd be sad if this changed since it'd be a big damage drop...

I'm sure they could tweak it if they wanted to. They did with saladmanders. it wouldnt be to the degree of thousands of mosquitoes like iv seen, but i'm sure they could make it reasonable. I'd like to imagine them as hits your merms don't have to take, but the friendly fire kinda gets in the way of that

You're definitely right but I would miss storing 120 mosquitos in one inventory slot though.

I would really like to see this in the game, if it is added, then in many ways it will be a complete update of the Wurt:wilson_love:

How long the beta usually takes before final/official release on pc?

I’ve been trying to ask this all day lol, I think that JoeW was probably going to announce this Thursday that the update would be coming next week… however-

If they haven’t “Announced” the update is coming, then technically they can take as long as they freaking want to without any deadlines, rather they take 3 months to work on the content, OR they release the content in beta and then take an additional 3 months till they publicly release it.

It sucks to see things like FrostJaw changes being mentioned as not making it into the beta due to time constraints…

What time constraints?! lol

As a console gamer myself: I want Klei to take however long they need, privately, publicly in PC Beta, And THEN release it to us on the public :)

It varies from beta to beta.

The moment Wurt dies, the explosion of a huge amount mosquitoes and the collision detection will turn my Potato PC into a baked potato, Yum.

Then we shouldn't mention Weber and his bunch of spiders:wilson_ecstatic::snarlingspider::spidercowers:
